Here is a cool pair of older salt & pepper shakers that were made by Emerson Creek Pottery in their Iris pattern. They are out of Bedford, VA in 1992. They are red clay, painted partially white with the iris design added on the front. There are not stoppers, but they are easily replaceable. The pepper has some sort of texture issue on top. I have washed them with soap & water, but it remains. I did not want to be too aggressive with scrubbing it, so I let it be. The wholes are not blocked, though, & it still performs as intended.
