Description
Presented is a large, sterling silver centerpiece bowl made by Gorham around the turn of the 20th century for retail by Shreve, Crump & Low. The whole piece is very Art Nouveau in form, with undulating sides & a ruffled rim. The flared rim has a thick scroll border & there is a large leaf decoration in the middle of each curved panel. This piece has never been monogrammed. The underside is marked with the old Gorham hallmark, sterling silver & Shreve, Crump & Low Co. This piece is in great overall condition. There is surface wear commensurate with age & use. There are a couple of pin point dings to the sides, but they are only noticeable upon close inspection & are not really visible unless you are inspecting the piece very closely. There are certainly no major dents, no breaks, no splits, no monograms, no monogram removals & no repairs. The bowl measures 12 1/4 inches in diameter, is 2 3/4 inches tall & weighs 511.3 grams or 18 ounces. Huge Gorham Sterling Art Nouveau Centerpiece Bowl
