Made by McCoy in the 1940's, it has leaves & red flowers that look like Poppies cold painted on the front. Cold painting means the flowers were painted on top of the glaze, resulting in chippiness & wear, which to me is very appealing! The same colors are cold painted on the side handles. The main color is cream. The back is plain. It measures 9 1/2" tall including the lid with handle x 7" at it's widest. The cookie jar without the lid measures 8" & the top opening is 4 3/8"in diameter. It is marked McCoy on the bottom. CONDITION It is a very weighty stoneware piece & in good usable condition.
