This vintage Asta Cookware enameled steel 8" bowl was made by the Fissler Company of Germany & features a bright cherry red exterior decorated with a series of large white medallions. The medallions have classic Mcm graphics resembling stylized snowflakes. The inside of the bowl is finished in black powder-coated enamel. The bowl has never been used & is in excellent condition. As noted the piece measures 8" in diameter at the mouth & 6" in diameter at the foot. The bowl stands 3.5" tall. The piece is quite heavy for its size due its composition & weighs in at 2lbs 2oz. Per the estate this piece dates to the early 1960's. This fantastic Asta enamelware bowl displays beautifully & would be a perfect addition to a retro or Mid Century kitchen. A highly collectible find great for cooking or serving. A note on the maker: Fissler of Germany manufactured Asta enamelware from 1851 until the 1980s. Asta's pots & pans are comprised of steel bodies covered with two coats of porcelain enamel which were then fired. The final step involved firing on the third layer of porcelain enamel which was applied to cover surface ornamentation. As a result of this intensive production process, Asta cookware is quite durable as well as visually appealing. These high-quality Asta luxury pots & pans were very expensive when initially offered in retail locations & remain highly sought after today.
