Price includes display box, the item you receive will be of similar quality to the one shown above! These teeth come from the Kem Kem formation in Morrocco & belong to from Abelisaurids, which are a part of a group of carnivorous dinosaurs known as theropods. Most teeth feature intact serrations, though small portions may be missing due to feeding wear or other damage. They are available in two sizes: Small (0.2 to 0.4 inches) & Medium (0.4 to 0.7 inches). The mid to late Cretaceous Kem Kem group has a few other notable fan favorite theropods as well, like Spinosaurus, Deltadromeus, & Carcharodontosaurus. Before more research was done into shed teeth coming from Morocco, Abelisaurid teeth were misidentified as tyrannosaurids. What were Abelisaurids? Abelisaurid theropods first appear in the fossil record in the early Jurassic, though they survived until the extinction of the non-avian dinosaurs at the end of the Mesozioc. They lived in South America, Madagascar, India, North Africa, & are less common in North America & Asia. Like most theropods, Abelisarids had stocky hind limbs & potentially vestigial forelimbs. Their skulls were also quite varied with ornamentation. Abelisaurid Tooth | Theropod, Real Dinosaur Fossil - Cretaceous Period 125 To 66 Mya Morocco
