The birds & flowers were painted by father-son wildlife artists Arthur & Alan Singer. At the time of their issue, these stamps were the most popular in U.S. Postal history. This stamp features a watercolor picturing a Cardinal & Red Carnation, Ohio's state bird & flower. These stamps are perfectly suitable for use as postage for mailing with USPS, as long as you use the adequate amount of postage to achieve standard postage rates.
