Important note: If you are looking to place an order for a shipping address in Alaska, Hawaii, APO/FPO/DPO, or a PO Box, please see the shop announcement or contact us via an Etsy convo before placing your order. During the 1600s, there was so much exploring of the Pacific Ocean. Our map reprint is based on a bilingual Dutch/Spanish map that was produced by the Dutch cartographer Hessel Gerritsz for the Dutch East India Company. The map was not intended for navigation per se, but more as a decorative nautical-chart piece for the company's directors. Now you can make our reprint part of your home decor! We have four sizes: 24x18" 32x24" 40x30" 48x36" We've made our reprint available in the original colors & in a stylish inverted blue version that will give any room a stately old-world feel. However, we strongly recommend measuring your intended wall first, due to the cost of the fine art paper & the amount of archival ink involved we cannot offer refunds or exchanges for the wrong size or wrong color chosen. (We do, however, offer refunds & exchanges for post office damage. Please see our shop policies for more details.) Our reprint is adapted from the Library of Congress/World Digital Library's copy of the map. We've made digital corrections where it made sense, but the original map did have some damage. We aren't able to offer framed/matted prints, but we recommend checking your local art/craft supply store and/or the following websites: www.craigframes.com or arttoframe.com. Craig Frames also has an Etsy storefront. We print on Aurora Fine Art with archival inks. The paper has a nice, slight watercolor paper texture feel to it. Your print comes in a heavy-duty mailing tube via USPS priority mail, so you won't have to wait long.
