1940s French oil painting on panel. Fauvism. Strange character wearing a hood. Signed lower right corner Artist: Jean Roger. France 1940s Jean Roger was born in Nîmes ( Southern France) in 1924. He studied at the School of Decorative Art in Nice with Andre Maillart for painting & with Jules Lengrand for drawing. He was associated to the Fauvism movement for the use of strong colors in his compositions & landscapes. Roger exhibited in the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris. There are some light scratches due to the old age. Size 16" x 10 1/2" (approximately). Price $195 Please look at my back stock-there are many treasures waiting for a home!
