This listing is for blocks with characteristics that don't meet our normal standards. NO wood is perfect, but we do our best to cherry-pick for our customers. When we have a batch of blocks that some may not appreciate for its natural flaws, we sell them for less because we don't waste. You get the same quality maple material & our attention to detail, but the blocks will most likely have dark spots or knots, ect. Each one of our blocks are handcrafted in the USA; made in our shop & by our hands from beginning to end. We don't order pre-cut blocks from a generic company - we use salvaged wood we've hunted or FSC certified material only. We mill it, cut it, sand it, engrave it & then go over it again to create a beautiful, timeless keepsake that is sanded to perfection.
