This incredible find came from a local farmers auction. It is an extremely rare item & a genuine piece of Delaware history. Cut from a retired fire hose, this brass coupling is very heavy ( approximatly 8 pounds.) Patent Date: September 18, 1906. The embossed lettering on the brass reads: OTHER PATENT PENDING LALLY WILMINGTON DEL. PAT. SEP. 18.06. V.H. CO. MIDDLETOWN 1-60 There appears that there was a number before the 1 which was scratched off.
