Description

I was able to salvage some letterpress & printing press ephemera from someone whose grandparents worked in Philadelphia area printing shops in the early 1900s. Today virtually everyone has a home printer, & soon many people will have 3-D printers at home. But in the mid 20th century, having a small printing press was a way for small businesses to cut costs & expand their product lines. This brochure from the Kelsey Company of Meriden, Connecticut is promoting their Exclesior Self-Inking Portable Printing Press. The Company manufactured the Excelsior Press from 1873 through 1994, & I think this undated brochure is likely from the 1940s or 1950s. Very cool. The booklet is in FAIR condition, as the cover is worn, some of the 12 or so pages have dog ears & minor losses, & there are light stains & smudges, but all the pages are here, all are legible, & it's amazing that something so heavily used has survived around 100 years. It measures about 9 1/4" by 6 1/4" by 1/8" thick. FREE shipping within the United States. I'll gladly combine shipping with other items whenever possible.
