The Boy from Peru follows the tale of a ten-year-old who is taken out of an idyllic lifestyle living in his country of birth in Lima, Peru, to attend a public boarding school eight thousand miles away in a country that has a totally different culture. It depicts his experiences and adventures as he rebels against his parent's decision to give him a better education. His antics at boarding school lead to continual punishment and eventually he left to go to a school in France. It depicts his early years in Peru, his time at school in the UK and his summer holidays in France. This book is partly fiction, as some events have been embellished for the reader, but is based on actual experiences of the author. It is funny at times, also very sad and has a high element of adventure and daring for one so young in a foreign country.
