As featured in "Hot Honey," People Magazine, the Beekman pure raw Autumn Honey is made from the bees' that feast of golden rod and purple aster. Today, Beekman 1802 Farm is home to over 40 beehives, producing about 15,000 lbs of honey a year. They harvest twice a year, and it takes 648 bees working a full season to produce each 9 oz jar of sweet goodness. The Beekman bees think it's all worth it (and so do we.) The birth of American beekeeping can be traced directly to the Mohawk Valley surrounding Sharon Springs. In the 1800s Moses Quimby invented the smoking can still use to this day, and his honey would have been stocked on the shelves of William Beekman's original Mercantile.
