Description

Robert Curthose (1051-1134), also called Robert II Duc de Normandie, ruled Normandy from 1087 to 1106 and spent many years fighting in the First Crusade. Curthose, from the French courtheuse meaning "short stockings" was a nickname given to him by his father, William the Conqueror. Belgian artist Decaisne studied in Brussels and Paris under French painters in the romantic movement. As an important portrait genre painter, Decaisne was interested in historical, Gothic and Medieval themes. The authentic stretched canvas replica painting captures the original work's texture, depth of color, and even its subtle brushstrokes, which are applied by hand. This replica European style, bright gold-toned, ribbed frame is cast in quality designer resin with an acanthus leaf and floret border that draws the eye toward the beautiful image. Proudly printed and framed in the USA using imported molding. Design Toscano Overall Size: 16.25" H x 17.25" W
