Description
Barletta short day onions are quite small, only .75 inches in width. This italian variety produces smooth white round onions that are often pickled. They can be harvested at full maturity, or can be harvested early to pickle. Indoor or direct sow seeds .25 inch deep and thin them to be 2-6 inches apart after a few weeks. Harvest mature onions when the skin has developed. Besides pickling, these onions are great used in sauces, soups, and cooked dishes.
