    • This photo of a dog with a mouthful of ladybugs is freaking out pet owners

The photo that Kansas veterinarian Lindsay Mitchell posted to Facebook looked so unreal and disturbing that some who saw it went right to the hoax-busting website Snopes to verify it. But that didn’t stop the photo from being shared more than 53,000 times since it went up last week. Mitchell, of Hoisington, Kan., posted a graphic picture of a dog with a mouthful of Asian lady beetles. Ladybugs aren’t so cute when 30 to 40 of them are stuck to the roof of a dog’s mouth. “This is the second pup I have seen like this today. If your pet is drooling or foaming at the mouth look for these lady bugs. They cause ulcers on the tongue and mouth and have a very painful bite,” she wrote on the Hoisington

Immediately after this happened, everyone wanted to know this dude’s identity (and, if you’re Jeff Van Gundy, why Westbrook wasn’t allowed to go into the stands and beat the hell out of him). As it turns out, learned that this Sixers fan is named Richard Harkaway, and when he’s not trying to get a rise out of All-NBA guards, he’s a urologist in Philadelphia. In this instance, after standing up to boo and being provoked by Russell Westbrook calling attention to my being overweight, my action in response was clearly inexcusable and I am embarrassed.

    • Dear Abby: Daughter, 5 kids abruptly move in

DEAR ABBY: I have been with my wife for 16 years. She has a grown daughter who’s the mother of eight kids, but she only has five with her at this time. My problem is, the daughter got evicted, and all of a sudden she brought her belongings to the house. She didn’t ask or anything, she just showed up with the five kids and they are driving me up the wall. I already have two adolescent kids, so seven ain’t heaven. I have tried to talk with my wife, but she doesn’t listen. I’m fed up, Abby, and I’m looking for other accommodations. They have been here for two weeks and — by the way — my sons are now in school while her five are running wild in the house. Am I wrong for leaving? — NEEDS MY OWN SPACE

    • There’s One Problem With Penny and Leonard’s Relationship on 'The Big Bang Theory'

It’s hard to find much of anything to nitpick on The Big Bang Theory these days. In fact, after I watched tonight's episode, "The Fetal Kick Catalyst," nothing to criticize came to mind. It was another solid, hilarious episode in a dynamite season 10. But after taking some time to think on it, one thing in particular started to drive me crazy, which led to the realization of something else altogether. Any ideas? Or do you want to go back and re-watch the episode? I’ll give you a hint. It involves Penny and Leonard. Give up? As I called out last season, Penny and Leonard sometimes look like a couple that wants to kill each other rather than two newlyweds. The PDA has at times been non-existent.

    • Large black bear is the first to reach bear-proofed bird feeder

CANTON, Conn., Oct. 27 (UPI) -- A Connecticut home owner who attempted to bear-proof a bird feeder with iron pipe and concrete captured video of a large black bear accepting the challenge. The Canton resident said the bird feeder was placed atop an iron pipe and was set in concrete earlier in the summer after it was knocked over twice by a bear. The filmer said bears have since been able to shake the pole and get some seed, but the bruin captured by the home's security camera was the first one large enough to swat the feeder on top of the pole. The video shows the bear repeatedly strike the feeder and then collect the bird seed from the ground. "This is the first time a bear has reached the feeders,"
