Tips on making your eyes look bigger from celebrity makeup artist Jillian Dempsey

Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes

Want to make your eyes look naturally bigger? Of course you do.

So try this trick that makeup artist Jillian Dempsey (who works with celebrities including Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Winslet) uses on herself all summer long:

"I line my lower lashes with a creamy brown pencil and then give it a little smudge," says Dempsey, who likes Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes because the waterproof formula doesn't crease or smear in the heat.

She keeps her upper lashes minimal: "I either trace a very thin line along my upper lashes or I skip them completely," she says, explaining that enhancing just the lower lashes makes your eyes look bigger. Plus, a full-on smoky eye can seem out of place when the weather (finally) warms up.

"A full face of makeup in the summer is all wrong," she says. "A smudgy line of a neutral brown is perfect for the beach."

    • Hmm, maybe this is why Trump doesn't want to attend the White House Correspondents' Dinner

On Saturday, Donald Trump made history as only the third president to bow out of the White House Correspondents' Dinner. And while this has much to do with Trump's ever-worsening battle with the press and his constant struggle to book talent, it's also worth remembering that, to be frank, Trump probably has another reason for ditching: He usually gets clobbered at these things. So, in the interest of, uh, elucidation, please enjoy these videos of Trump getting roasted at the 2011 and 2016 White House Correspondents' Dinner. Better yet, enjoy Trump's mirthless reactions. They're uncomfortable to watch, but extremely worth it. The Lion King is involved. Next, observe Seth Meyers insisting that Trump must be running for president as a "joke." Trump does not smile. And here's Obama ripping on The Apprentice.  Finally, here's a delightful compilation of all the best Trump burns from the 2016 dinner.  A Larry Wilmore highlight: "Yeah, Trump's campaign is inspiring ... mass violence." (Trump did not attend that one, BTW.) So, there you have it. While we're not sure about the future of this year's event, we'll always have those stunners to fall back on.  And you can always zoom in on this cursed image while listening to "Sound of Silence."
