Test-drive: Lipstick Queen's blue lipstick

In the beauty-product department, I have a healthy fear of all things blue: Blue eye shadow can bring unforgiving '80s comparisons, and blue mascara and eyeliner should really, in my opinion, just be black. Blue lipstick? Unless you’re a clown, or Ke$ha, try to avoid it. Or so I thought until earlier this week, when I picked up Lipstick Queen’s new shade, Hello Sailor. It's a sheer navy lipstick that promises to make your teeth look whiter and your complexion brighter.

The color glided easily onto my lips and yielded a surprisingly gorgeous, shiny raspberry shade. (See my Instagram for pictures.) Elementary color theory teaches us that red and blue make purple, and on naturally rosy lips, this navy lipstick produces a subtle berry pout. But the color fades quickly, so if you’re looking for a deeper purple, then reapply often.

Would you dare to try blue lipstick?

    • Missing Indiana Man’s Ex-Wife Speaks Out About Finding Him Alive 23 Years After Disappearance

Twenty-three years after Linda Iseler’s husband, Richard Hoagland, disappeared on Feb. 10, 1993, and was later declared dead, she received a call from Florida police saying her ex-husband had been arrested on a charge of fraudulent use of personal identification. In a new interview with ABC News’ 20/20, Iseler says she cannot comprehend the reasoning behind such a destructive lie. Hoagland, who spent the last 20 years living as Terry Jude Symansky, was arrested in July after the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office discovered he was actually Hoagland, who was declared dead in 2003.

    • This photo of a dog with a mouthful of ladybugs is freaking out pet owners

The photo that Kansas veterinarian Lindsay Mitchell posted to Facebook looked so unreal and disturbing that some who saw it went right to the hoax-busting website Snopes to verify it. But that didn’t stop the photo from being shared more than 53,000 times since it went up last week. Mitchell, of Hoisington, Kan., posted a graphic picture of a dog with a mouthful of Asian lady beetles. Ladybugs aren’t so cute when 30 to 40 of them are stuck to the roof of a dog’s mouth. “This is the second pup I have seen like this today. If your pet is drooling or foaming at the mouth look for these lady bugs. They cause ulcers on the tongue and mouth and have a very painful bite,” she wrote on the Hoisington

    • Queen Letizia Just Wore Pants No Other Royal Could Ever Pull Off — You'll Want to See Them!

Yes, that is Queen Letizia of Spain wearing track pants to an audience in a palace. As hard as it is to believe a queen is wearing athleisure to an official event, if anyone was going to do it, it was going to be the Spanish monarch. Don't think for a second that this pair of pants is ordinary. Queen Letizia, whose past risky fashion choices have always been perfect, made sure the loose and comfy bottoms had a few details that made them extra special: the white pipping on the side, their silky finish, and their well-tailored fit. She paid as much attention to the rest of her outfit, wearing a dressy, silky blouse on top and dangly sparkly earrings that dressed up her look. Scroll ahead for more

DEAR ABBY: I have been with my wife for 16 years. She has a grown daughter who’s the mother of eight kids, but she only has five with her at this time. My problem is, the daughter got evicted, and all of a sudden she brought her belongings to the house. She didn’t ask or anything, she just showed up with the five kids and they are driving me up the wall. I already have two adolescent kids, so seven ain’t heaven. I have tried to talk with my wife, but she doesn’t listen. I’m fed up, Abby, and I’m looking for other accommodations. They have been here for two weeks and — by the way — my sons are now in school while her five are running wild in the house. Am I wrong for leaving? — NEEDS MY OWN SPACE
