Test-drive: Lipstick Queen's blue lipstick

In the beauty-product department, I have a healthy fear of all things blue: Blue eye shadow can bring unforgiving '80s comparisons, and blue mascara and eyeliner should really, in my opinion, just be black. Blue lipstick? Unless you’re a clown, or Ke$ha, try to avoid it. Or so I thought until earlier this week, when I picked up Lipstick Queen’s new shade, Hello Sailor. It's a sheer navy lipstick that promises to make your teeth look whiter and your complexion brighter.

The color glided easily onto my lips and yielded a surprisingly gorgeous, shiny raspberry shade. (See my Instagram for pictures.) Elementary color theory teaches us that red and blue make purple, and on naturally rosy lips, this navy lipstick produces a subtle berry pout. But the color fades quickly, so if you’re looking for a deeper purple, then reapply often.

Would you dare to try blue lipstick?

    • That Viral Video of a Man Punching a Kangaroo Actually Has a Sad Backstory

Video of an Australian man boxing a kangaroo to save his dog went viral last week, but there is more to the story than meets the eye. Greig Tonkins and his pals were on a boar hunting trip with their friend Kailem Barwick, a 19-year-old who was diagnosed with terminal cancer, hoping to catch an elusive "tonner"—a wild boar that weighs more than 100 kilograms (around 220 pounds), the Daily Mail reported. This Guy Punched a Kangaroo In Face to Save a Dog During the trip, one of the dogs ran into a kangaroo while chasing a scent. Tonkins quickly ran to the dog's aide and intervened, first distracting the kangaroo and causing it to release the dog from a headlock. Thankfully the dog was wearing protective

    • Russia intervened to help Trump win election: intelligence officials

By John Walcott WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. intelligence analysts have concluded that Russia intervened in the 2016 election to help President-elect Donald Trump win the White House, and not just to undermine confidence in the U.S. electoral system, a senior U.S. official said on Friday. U.S. intelligence agencies have assessed that as the 2016 presidential campaign progressed, Russian government officials devoted increasing attention to assisting Trump's effort to win the election, the U.S. official familiar with the finding told Reuters on Friday night, speaking on condition of anonymity. The president-elect's transition office released a statement that exaggerated his margin of victory and attacked the U.S. intelligence community that Trump will soon command, but did not address the analysts' conclusion.

DEAR AMY: My wife of more than 40 years and I had a mutual parting of ways five years ago. We harbor no searing animosity toward one another and we regularly talk in civil and polite tones. She thought I was going in the wrong direction, but I quickly made an effort to meet a new woman through online dating. I was successful in that venture. My ex joined many different clubs and organizations and eventually fell in with a man whose company she enjoys. Happy ending? I wish. I was happy for my ex, but women I met online told me that this guy continues to occupy a spot in the online dating scene, messaging women about his availability. It is not my business, but I’d also rather not have her contract

"Brian Loncar died Sunday because of a broken heart because of Grace," Mike McCurley, a lawyer and close friend, said at the funeral. Hours before his death, Loncar texted McCurley about attending an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting together Monday. Now, McCurley told the audience, he pictured Brian and Grace together in heaven, sitting at a table with God, helping craft "a better marketing system for Christianity." "I can't wait to see what that is," McCurley said.  Loncar was the one to find his daughter's body, Sue Loncar said. In the days afterward, Brian had told Sue he wasn't sure he could keep living. Yet he also pledged to take time off work and find a way for them to be happy again.  He

There are many people who think that cats and dogs cannot get along, but this is far from the truth. As many people who have both will tell you, our favorite house pets are more adaptable than we give them credit for. It may take a little bit of time and a lot of training, or maybe a little bit of training and a lot of time, but most dogs and cats will eventually come around to accept all members of the family. Take the dog and cat duo in this video, Liz Lemon and Penny. Penny is a hyper little lady with a lot of playful puppy energy to burn while Liz Lemon is one cool cat. When Penny jumps up on the bed, thinking that she could disturb this feline in relaxation mode, she had another thing coming.
