Dear Amy: My wife and I have been married for almost 10 years. We are in our mid-30s. We don’t have children. We have hit a brick wall. She says that she completely resents me for not going to family functions and doing couples activities. I will try harder to do more of these things. She has said that she has changed and that we’ve grown apart. She has taken up different activities outside the home. She is taking dancing lessons and is working out at the local gym every day. She is out every other night, sometimes until quite late. We don’t eat dinner together anymore, and I’ve had many sleepless nights worrying about our relationship. I’m extremely concerned and worried about our marriage!

A Burmese python in the Everglades with a penchant for venison gulped down three whole deer — one doe and two fawns — before wildlife officials captured and euthanized it, a new study reveals. The gustatory feat sets a record: It's the first invasive Burmese python (Python molurus bivittatus) caught with three deer in its gut, said study co-lead author Scott Boback, an associate professor of biology at Dickinson College in Pennsylvania. The python probably attacked and ate the deer at different times over a 90-day period, Boback said.

    • These 8 Winter Boots Are the Safest for Icy Conditions (9 photos)

Leave it to Canadians to determine which footwear you should rely on for icy conditions this winter. Researchers at the Intelligent Design for Adaptation, Participation and Technology labs at the Torontos Rehabilitation Institute used simulatedicy winter conditions to test 98 pairs of winter boots for safety. They studied each pairs performance on icysurfaces in outdoor winter environments. The boots were tested on angular planes of melting ice and bare ice, with scientists walking both uphill and downhill to test slip resistance. Only eightpairs were deemed safe for both ice conditions: three pairs of work boots, and five pairs of casual boots. Results of the study have been published on RateMyTreads.com . The team of researchers ranked each pair on a three-snowflake scale. The eight brands with the highest score achieved only one snowflake, though the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute says it has been working with footwear manufacturers to test prototypes that earned two and three snowflakes. Though not yet on the market, the scientists say those prototypes should be available to consumers within one or two years. Here are the eight pairs of boots that were deemed safe enough to earn one snowflake.

    • Cowboys can clinch home field next week, may be Romo time

With Dak Prescott an MVP candidate, Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is firmly planted on the bench. But there’s still a chance that Romo will get more playing time than Prescott for the rest of the season, even if Prescott stays healthy. That’s because the Cowboys could be as little as one game away from clinching home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs. If the Cowboys beat the Giants next week to improve to 12-1, and if they get some help in the form of losses from the other top teams in the NFC, they can have home-field advantage clinched with three games left in the season. At that point, the Cowboys will have a decision to make: Keep their foot on the gas pedal, or rest their starters?

    • Friendly deer greets a hunter in the woods and demands to be pet

You never know where you'll meet a deer friend of yours.  Brian Powers was out hunting near Wausau, Wisconsin, recently when he spotted something odd. Powers noticed a deer near a creek, but instead of running at the sight of a human, the friendly deer approached Powers and insisted on some head scratches.  Oddly enough the deer also had an orange scarf around its neck, probably to deter hunters from shooting the friendly creature. Hunters and hikers often wear the color orange to warn other hunters that they are not animals to prevent accidentally getting shot.  "This deer lives in the wild but is friendly toward humans and someone was smart enough to put the orange scarf around his neck to try to protect him," Powers told WFRV-TV. Powers says the two chilled for about 10 minutes before it eventually walked away. But then, he saw the same deer in the afternoon, and again it walked right up to Powers.  Powers has been hunting for 42 years, and claims he has never seen anything like this. However, another hunter in Wisconsin had a very similar experience earlier this year, though this deer appeared to be younger and the two locations were over 2 hours driving distance apart. Apparently the deer in Wisconsin are just super friendly. BONUS: Watch a runner get hit by a deer in the middle of a race

    • World's Best Islands for Beaches and Natural Attractions (10 photos)

Your camera cant capture all the hues of blue and green in the water, said one Travel + Leisure reader about Bora-Bora. Bora-Boras lagoons, volcanic mountains, and crystal-clear waters helped propel the French Polynesian island to the No. 8 spot on our list of the best islands for beaches and natural attractions on the planet. Every year, the T+L Worlds Best Awards survey asks readers to weigh in on travel experiences from across the globe,to cast their votes for the top hotels, airlines, cities, spas, and more.Readers scored the top islands on the planet according to the friendliness of the people, food, value, activities and sights, romance, and natural beauty. And while a stretch of white sand fringed by reefs and turquoise waters may be the first image that comes to mind when you picture an island getaway, not all of the worlds most beautiful isles come with palm trees and cabanas. [Mount Desert Islands] coastline is unbelievable, said a T+L Worlds Best voter. Others raved about the charming inns, the rocky beaches, and endless hiking trails meandering across this 108-square-mile fragment of Acadia National Park . Now, in addition to lobster rolls and clambakes, Maine can be known for its spectacular beaches and natural magnetism. This years winners span the globe, from perennial favorites in Hawaii tolocales in the Philippines and Ecuador. Some of the the most spectacular island beaches can be found on East African archipelagos in the Indian Ocean, as well as in the Caribbean . The Exumas have the most beautiful water in the Caribbean, said T+L reader Varina Haney, and the sights are unlike anywhere else we have traveled. Of course, its not just impossibly clear seas that lure travelers to the Bahamas. It could also be the friendly stingrays or swimming pigs, both of which are two of the areas best natural attractions.
