We're a bunch of eyelash junkies over here at Cosmo—but as we recently reported, the American Academy of Ophthalmology has officially cautioned against the dangers of lash extensions and their glue, saying the addictive procedure can cause infections and swelling of the cornea and/or eyelid.

So, now is probably a good time to give you some alternative options to lengthening your lashes that don't involve extensions and the risk of looking like Quasimoto.

These formulas penetrate at the root of your lash line and stimulate the keratin (the protein that are lashes are made of) to lengthen, thicken, and fortify them.

Here are some over-the-counter serums you can swipe on to still score a fringe worth batting at the boys:

A Republican elector from Texas announced Monday that he would refuse to cast his Electoral College vote for Donald Trump. Christopher Suprun, a paramedic from Texas, wrote in a New York Times op-ed that he could not support “someone who shows daily he is not qualified for the office.” He continues: “Fifteen years ago, I swore an oath to defend my country and Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Suprun writes that instead of backing Hillary Clinton or Trump, electors from both parties “should unify behind a Republican alternative, an honorable and qualified man or woman such as Gov. John Kasich of Ohio.” This is in line with a strategy that has been pushed by some Democratic electors in recent days.
