How to do your makeup in five minutes (or less)

Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation(Photo courtesy of benefitcosmetics.com)Only have a few minutes to get ready? Makeup artist and author of Crazy, Busy, Beautiful, Carmindy explains just how to make up your face in five minutes flat. The result? A sexy-looking you—and some time to spare.

1. Even Out Your Skin Tone

Create an even-looking complexion using a sheer liquid foundation, like Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Brightening Makeup Oil-Free SPF 25 PA+++, $34, benefitcosmetics.com.

Apply the foundation to your skin using a dampened non-latex sponge, like Victoria's Secret Victoria Vogue Non-Latex Foundation Sponge, $1.59 for two, amazon.com, for a streak-free application.

Using your ring finger, pat concealer underneath your eyes to hide any dark circles—and dab some cover-up onto any blemishes to conceal them, too.

Try Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Inspired by Carmindy Fast Fix Concealer, starting at $17, amazon.com.

Instantly brighten your face by highlighting it in three key places with a powder highlighter, like Revlon Highlighting Face Powder Pure Confection, starting at $9, amazon.com. If you're fair, use a frosty white shade; for medium skin tones use a pink-champagne hue; and for dark skin reach for a pale gold powder.

After you've applied your foundation and concealer, use a dual-ended brush, like Stila #15 Double-Sided Brush, starting at $20, amazon.com, to sweep highlighter underneath your brow bone with the larger brush. Then, flip it to the other side and trace the inner corner of your eye with the smaller brush topped with highlighter.

Finally, use a fan brush to dust some highlighter over your cheekbones. We like E.L.F. Cosmetics Fan Brush, $1, eyeslipsface.com.
