Cool nail polish changes color with your temperature

Nail polish junkies, we'd like you to meet Shade Shifter from Orly, a new color-changing gel topcoat that changes pigment depending on body temperature and chemistry. Nope, it's not "mood ring" technology. This topcoat transforms into a fantastically new shade in the same color palette — darker if you're cold, lighter if you're warm.

If you’re a die-hard nail connoisseur, this color-changing topcoat is something you will eventually try. If you’re more of a window shopper and like to look but not touch, then check out the Shade Shifter video below. It’s pretty cool, and the gel component reminds us of dark cherry Jell-O, which is always fun. Looking to give it a go? Head to the salon — it's a pros-only product for now.

(CNN)It happens so fast you almost miss it. A man walks down the hallway of a school, crossing paths with a young boy. Suddenly, without provocation, the man reaches down and punches the boy in his stomach. He then casually walks toward the door. The boy falls to his knees, doubled over in obvious pain. The man pauses, just for a second, to look over his shoulder at the boy, before walking out. Surveillance video captured this shocking encounter, which happened last week at the KIPP DC Spring Academy in Washington DC. The boy in the video, 7-year-old John Mclean, told CNN affiliate WJLA that the punch to the gut was "real painful." It was painful for John's mother to see as well. She says the

  • Police baffled by couple found dead next to untouched bags of Taco Bell — and not much else

Cameron and Courtney Hulet were lying on their living room floor when a neighbor saw them. The neighbor didn’t think much of it. She heard moans and figured they were asleep. She closed the front door, which the couple had a habit of leaving open, David Uhl, manager of the southeast Michigan village of Dundee, told The Washington Post. It was Tuesday morning. The neighbor said she didn’t see the Hulets all day, according to Uhl. She went back to check on them later that night. They were still lying next to each other. Taco Bell bags and drinks sat next to them on a table, untouched. The woman had a male friend check on them, Uhl said. Police were called to the apartment shortly before midnight

  • Students Beaten, Horse Punched in Mob Attacks at University

Four teens have been arrested on assault charges in flash mob attacks around Temple University in which college students were beaten, an officer was knocked down and a police horse was punched in the face, police said Monday. Temple spokesman Ray Betzner told television station NBC10 that roving juveniles played a "cat-and-mouse game" with police. In two separate attacks, police said students and others were surrounded and then punched, kicked, robbed and in some cases knocked to the ground by groups of 20 to 30 teens. In two other incidents that have led to arrests, police said a boy punched a police horse twice in the face as mounted officers were trying to break up a crowd at a street corner, and another threw a Temple officer to the ground.
