It's coming and it's coming fast — the Super Bowl is officially less than a week away. For some of us that's a saddening thought, because either our beloved team didn't make the cut or we're dreading the end of the NFL season, but the Super Bowl is a time to party — with friendly wagers, friends and family, commercials, beers, and our favorite part, classic game day grub.

Quintessential Super Bowl fare boils down to those comforting dishes we have come to know and love during many Sundays glued to the television watching the big game. And yet, while we enjoy bottomless wings and heaping piles of nachos, we don't always have time to spend hours in the kitchen cooking before the game, especially when there's a huge group of people to entertain.

Luckily for us, there's a plethora of frozen fare that's fit for serving to a crowd. The frozen food aisle is home to tons of snacks, dips, wings, and more that bring the same great taste but take a fraction of the time to make.

With brands you've come to know and love, like Nathan's Famous, T.G.I. Friday's, Checkers, and others, it's easy to trust these products and give them a try at your game watch.

Our list of must-tries didn't appear from thin air; it's the result of scouring reader reviews on product sites and blogs as well as cornering the best-sellers. These party foods have been tested on a hungry crowd over a series of game day Sundays, so if they can stand out among cases of beer and a way-too-loud television broadcasting the games, you know they're winners.

Nathan’s Beef Franks in a Blanket

We wouldn't get these from anywhere else but Nathan’s. There’s no comparison — maybe it’s the Coney Island in us, but no one does hot dogs like Nathan’s.

Amy’s Organic Macaroni and Cheese

This was a cult college favorite among my roommates but when it's made in a big batch and served for a big crowd it definitely fits the comfort food criteria and hit the mark on cheesy, creamy goodness.

A teenage driver was streaming to Facebook Live while she drove along a Pennsylvania highway just before a tractor-trailer rear ended her vehicle after midnight Tuesday, killing her and a passenger in a fiery wreck. Brooke Miranda Hughes, 18, was behind the wheel on Interstate 380 near Tobyhanna as she live-streamed her car ride with 19-year-old friend, Chaniya Morrison-Toomey, who can be heard saying “Are you going live?” in the now-deleted footage, according to the Associated Press. Before Hughes could answer, bright lights flash inside the car and sounds of screeching tires can be heard, followed by seven-minutes of blackness, the Scranton Times-Tribune reported.

Hi, Carolyn: Should I be worried that my wife and I have had no sex for literally years? I am guessing it is at least three years. Not even heavy make-out sessions. It just seems that my wife has no interest. I am afraid to broach the subject for fear of a negative answer. We don’t sleep in the same bed anymore either. I am a big snorer and chose to sleep in the guest room. It’s fine because she is a light sleeper and I am happier that she is getting her sleep. I do use a CPAP but it does come off sometimes. The no-sex thing just happened over time. We have both gained some weight but we are not obese — we could both lose 20 or 30 pounds. Is this normal or should we seek help? J.: Should I be

That’s right, Rian Johnson is Dark Crystal- lizing the next Star Wars. For decades, some Malibu property owners have made it hard for the public to reach public beaches. On Thursday, the California Coastal Commission fined two of those property owners more than $5.1 million for denying surfers, sand castle builders, kite flyers, sun bathers, yoga enthusiasts and other beachgoers access to the sand that is theirs by state law. In one of those decisions, the commission had battled for nine years with Dr. Warren M. Lent and his wife, Henny, before unanimously approving Thursday’s cease-and-desist order for the couple and fining them about $4.2 million for diverting a public easement to private use at an expensive oceanfront rental they own at Las Flores Beach. “This represents an attitude we often see in Malibu — that the shore is our private backyard,” said Commissioner Mark Vargas, who made the motion at Thursday’s hearing for a $4.185-million fine.
