Date night is the time to break out of your usual routine and crank up the romance. Here are the secrets to getting the best flirty makeup looks—with a little celebrity inspiration.

BORDEAUX LIPS

Let's put it this way: Drawing attention to your lips? Never a bad thing on a date.

This deep wine lip color is just intense enough to be a pretty focal point. To get this kind of precise color that also lasts, start by tracing the natural border of your mouth with a burgundy-colored lip pencil, and use it to fill in the entire lip area. Then, with a lip brush, apply a dark red lipstick such as Dolce & Gabbana The Lipstick in Ultra on top. (To buy: $30, saksfifthavenue.com)

Keep the rest of the face simple by adding a bit of mascara and filling in brows where needed, says makeup artist Quinn Murphy.

Rihanna's bronze look

ALL-OVER BRONZE

So, right here, Rihanna has that all-natural "I-just-roll-out-of-bed-this-gorgeous" look. The secret to re-creating it? Wearing the same glowing makeup color all over the face.

With a fluffy powder brush, lightly dust bronzer (Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder, $38 , macys.com) on the temples, just below the cheekbones, and under the jawline.

"You're keeping the color on the edges but still allowing the high points of the face to come forward," Murphy says.

Dab a touch of blush on the apples of the cheeks, swipe a dark brown eyeliner along the top lash line, and smooth on a gold-flecked neutral lip gloss (we love Benefit Ultra Shines in Nudie-Tude, $18, benefitcosmetics.com) for your own spin on this effortless look

Smoky Eyes

CHAMPAGNE SMOKY EYES

Smoky eyes are sexy but can come across as intense and dramatic. If that's not the message you're sending, try a lighter, softer version.

Line the top and bottom lash lines with black eyeliner, and smudge with a Q-tip or a small pencil brush.

Apply a light brown eye shadow (we like Burberry Beauty Sheer Eye Shadow in Midnight Brown, $29, nordstrom.com) around the outer corners and blend toward the brow bone and under the lower lashes to soften the border.

Dust on a shimmery champagne shadow (try CoverGirl Eye Enhancers in Champagne, $3.19, drugstore.com) on the center of the eyelids and "build the color to the edge of the crease," says Murphy.

Classic Smoky Eyes

CLASSIC SMOKY EYES

You know how we said smoky eyes are dramatic? When you're getting decked out for a major night on the town, nothing less will do.

Copy Julianne Moore's by drawing a black eye pencil—we love how well Elizabeth Arden Smoky Eyes Powder Pencil in Smoky Black ($18, macys.com) smudges—along the upper lashes. (It's OK if it's a little messy...that's the idea.)

Apply a matte slate or concrete eye shadow (Sephora Colorful Mono Eyeshadow in City Fog, $13, Sephora.com) just below the lower lashes and on the eyelids, then blend outward to the crease.

"Blur the edges—that gives you that really smoky, diffused look. It starts with the black and just fades into a slate color," says Murphy.

Finish with tons of black mascara. Leave the rest of the face pretty bare—just conceal any spots of redness, and dust on a natural blush and some clear lip balm.

Flushed Cheeks

(Fairchild Archive)

FLUSHED CHEEKS

Flushed cheeks, like Olivia Munn's, are where sweet and sexy meet. To get the look, "definitely use a cream blush," says Murphy. "It's soft, natural, subtle."

With your ring finger, dot color on the apples of the cheeks and blend back toward the ears.

Murphy recommends rosy pinks for fair skin, corals for fair-to-medium, russet and terra-cotta shades for medium-to-tan, and blushes with hints of plum for darker tones.

Some of our favorite formulas: Maybelline New York Dream Bouncy Blush ($8, maybelline.com) and Mark Just Pinched Instant Blush Tint ($9, avon.com).

Purple eyes

PURPLE EYES

When you want a look that's fresh, exciting, and a bit seductive, purple eye shadow fits the bill and flatters a surprising range of skin tones.

To get the look, line the eyes with a black or deep eggplant eye pencil (we like Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Lust, $19, sephora.com).

Blend a rich aubergine eye shadow into the outer corners and under the bottom lash line. Add "a shimmery mid-tone purple, like a dark lavender, over the lid," says Murphy, and swipe on a bit of black mascara.

Tangerine Lips

(Fairchild Archive)

BOLD LIPS

Bright, rich lips, like Solange's here, are romantic and just plain pretty.

To get the look, "tap the color on with your finger," says Murphy. You'll still get that flash of brightness, but "it's going to have softer edges and look more undone."

Brights look amazing on every skin tone, so don't be afraid to experiment.

We love L'Oréal Paris Colour Riche Lipstick in Volcanic ($9, drugstore.com) for orange, M.A.C. Matte Lipstick in Russian Red ($15, maccosmetics.com) for red, and Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté Silky-Sensual Radiant Lipstick SPF 15 in Provocative Pink ($34, sephora.com) for fuchsia, Murphy's personal favorite shade.

Metallic Eyes

(CN Digital Studio)

ICY METALLIC EYES

Silvery shades on the eyes catch the light for the perfect amount of flirty sparkle.

Rim the eyes with a dark brown or black eyeliner and smudge it with a cotton swab. Then take a cool metallic shadow (Lancôme Color Design Sensational Effects Eye Shadow in Style Section, $19, lancome-usa.com) and apply it to the eyelids and inner corners.

"For this look, you don't want to blend the color up to the brow bone," says Murphy. Keep it to the lids and inner corners only.

"This makes it sophisticated instead of junior high." Murphy also suggests defining the eyes with a brown shadow blended into the outer corners and crease to enhance their shape.

Bold Lashes

(Fairchild Archive)

BOLD LASHES

Long, dark lashes make eyes more defined and bat-able, but the key is to make them look natural, not cartoonish.

To get Eva Longoria's just-right flirty fringe, apply a few individual false lashes to the outer corners of each eye for an almond shape, and to the middle for a doe-eyed look.

Check out our guide to applying fake lashes.

Be sure to curl your natural lashes before applying the false ones, and finish with a few coats of mascara to blend the reals and the fakes.

As 2016's Best Actress winner, Brie Larson was tasked with presenting the award for Best Actor at the 2017 Academy Awards. On Sunday night, that award went to Casey Affleck for his role in Manchester By the Sea , despite the allegations of sexual harassment against him. And like the rest of the internet, Larson did not seem pleased. My aesthetic: Brie Larson not clapping for literal trash hole casey affleck pic.twitter.com/Ci5LWXLkCr — Tyler Struble (@tyler_struble) February 27, 2017 The allegations against Affleck stem from lawsuits filed by two women who worked on his 2010 film I'm Still Here. The actor settled both cases out of court.  Although similar allegations against Nate Parker became the major talking point surrounding his film The Birth of a Nation , Affleck's Oscar win shows that the lawsuits have left his his career largely unscathed. Larson — who portrayed a sexual assault survivor in 2015's Room and who stood to hug the survivors who performed with Lady Gaga at last year's show — doesn't seem to be here for it.  All award season Brie Larson, who starred in a movie about sexual assault, had to present Casey Affleck all his awards. pic.twitter.com/L2WbQvSJNv — Marnie (@ChrnclsOfMarnia) February 27, 2017 at what time is brie larson scheduled to beat up casey affleck — ASYA (@communistbabe) February 27, 2017 brie larson everytime she sees casey affleck pic.twitter.com/nkQCta9JxZ — chiara (@chapmns) February 27, 2017 BONUS: Despite the most awkward moment in Oscars history, ‘Moonlight’s’ Best Picture award is what matters most.

Draft season is the smokiest season in the NFL, a time of the year when no one is to believed and any rumor is on the table. This year is even smokier because the two teams at the top, the Cleveland Browns and San Francisco 49ers, are in full-blown rebuilds without clear-cut options at quarterback.  Anything is on the table, making any rumor totally feasible. Here’s a very interesting option for San Francisco: Reuben Foster of Alabama with the No. 2 overall pick. According to Vic Carruci of the Buffalo News, there is substantial “buzz” about Foster landing in San Francisco at the top of the draft. Asked in a mailbag about the possibility of Foster landing with Buffalo at No. 10 overall, Carucci

North Korea executed five senior security officials for making false reports that “enraged” leader Kim Jong Un, South Korea’s Yonhap news agency reported Monday. The five were killed with anti-aircraft guns, the National Intelligence Service said in a private briefing to lawmakers, according to the news agency. It wasn’t immediately clear what the “false reports” were, but they appeared to be unrelated to the assassination of Kim Jong Nam, the estranged half-brother of Kim Jong Un, two weeks ago. Lawmaker Lee Cheol Woo said the officials worked in the department of the former state security chief Kim Won Hong, who was dismissed in January amid allegations of corruption and human rights abuses.

Beatty had somehow ended up with the Best Actress envelope announcing La La Land’s Emma Stone as the winner.
