How can I avoid fuzz balls on my towels?

How can I avoid fuzz balls on my towels?

Abrasion during washing and drying is one culprit that causes small fuzz balls to cling to cotton towels.

To prevent these from forming, place a large piece of nylon netting in the dryer along with the towels; this will cause the fuzz balls to fall off. To prevent this from happening in the future, buy towels that are labeled "combed cotton."

This fabric is made with the longest length of fibers, which are looped and do not break easily.

What's the best way to clean marble?

Marble surfaces can be scratched by grit and absorbs moisture, so you should immediately wipe up any spills.

Clean marble regularly by using a soft cloth or sponge with a mild solution. Do not use lemon, vinegar, or any other acidic cleaner; it will eat into the marble. Remove stains with a marble polishing powder such as tin oxide.

Can toothpaste clean silver?

Yep! Toothpaste will remove tarnish, but here's the catch: It's more abrasive than silver polish, so you should use it only in a pinch and only on a small area.

Follow these steps:

Moisten the silver, gently rub on a little paste with your finger, rinse the spot thoroughly with warm water, and dry with a soft, clean cloth. What you should not use: toothpaste that contains tartar-control substances or whiteners.

Is it necessary to wash my dishwasher?

Yes! Even the inside of your dishwasher accumulates dirt and gunk.

Inspect the bottom reservoir and drain hose, where grease and food particles could get trapped. Push a wad of paper towels or a large sponge into the bottom to absorb any of this stuff. Then pour several cups of household vinegar into the bottom and run a cycle.

What's the best way to clean the toilet tank?

When you remove the lid, you may be surprised by what lurks underneath. Sand and other debris can accumulate and prevent the flapper from working correctly.

To clean, turn off water at the base. Flush the toilet, which will empty the tank, then wipe the inside with paper towels.

How can I remove a stuck lightbulb?

How can I remove a stuck lightbulb?

Very carefully. First, unplug the lamp or turn off the power at the breaker box. Then, wearing thick gloves and eye protection, gently wiggle the bulb to loosen its base. If the bulb is still stuck, place a cloth over it and break it off, along with the filament. Then insert a rubber jar opener into the base and slowly twist counterclockwise to remove it. This may take several tries. Before replacing the bulb, wipe the empty socket with a dry cloth.

Note: The old trick of using a raw potato for this job isn't smart; the moisture could cause the fixture to short out.

A few days after Lea Michele attended Glee costar Becca Tobin's wedding, the actress traded in her Winter coat for a swimsuit. • Woman shuts down saleswoman who called her $130 engagement ring 'pathetic'

When it comes to love, it's not about the money. Quinn and Ariel McRae dated for two years before tying the knot. But a saleswoman where the couple bought Ariel's rings tried to put a damper on the festivities by calling the jewelry "pathetic." "My husband doesn't have a lot, neither of us do," McRae explained in a Facebook post about the encounter. "We scrape and scrape to pay bills and put food in our bellies, but after almost 2 years of dating we decided that we couldn't wait anymore, so we didn't." "I wasn't even thinking about rings, I just wanted to marry my best friend," she continued, "But he wouldn't have it. He scraped up just enough money to buy me two matching rings from Pandora." The two headed to the store and picked out a pair of rings they could afford — two rings for $130. SEE ALSO: Little boy proposes to his classmate with his mom's diamond ring McRae was was thrilled to get her rings, and then, the couple encountered a saleswoman. "While we were purchasing my rings... another lady that was working there came over to help the lady selling them to us," she wrote. "She said, 'Y'all, can you believe that some men get these as engagement rings? How pathetic.'" "I watched my now husband's face fall," she continued. Quinn was already upset that he couldn't his fiancé a more expensive ring, so the saleswoman's words crushed him. "He was so upset at the idea of not making me happy enough and of me not wanting to marry him because my rings didn't cost enough money or weren't flashy enough," she explained. "Y'all I would have gotten married to this man if it had been a 25¢ gum ball machine ring" she proudly posted. "When did our nation fall so far to think the only way a man can truly love a woman is if he buys her $3,000+ jewelry and makes a public decree of his affection with said flashy ring?" McRae quickly shot down the pretentious saleswoman, calmly saying, "It isn't the ring that matters, it is the love that goes into buying one that is." "My husband was so afraid of me not wanting him because he couldn't afford a piece of jewelry," she posted. "But here I am though, courthouse married, $130 ring set, the love of my life by my side and happier than I could ever imagine." Looks like this marriage is off to a pretty perfect start.
