A cold one on a hot day never goes out of style—but the experience is continually improving. And this season, aficionados have a lot of reasons to toast.

Samuel Adams Double Agent IPL
After nearly three decades, the venerable Boston brewery keeps rolling out innovations like this IPL—India pale lager—that combines the piney, grapefruit-driven DNA of an IPA with a colder fermentation process for a smooth, hop-forward hybrid with a crisp finish.

961 beer lager
When you think of craft beer, the Middle East rarely comes to mind. But Mazen Hajjar, a former investment banker from Lebanon, is altering perceptions with his award-winning brewery named after the nation's calling code. Cascade hops give this gently sweet, golden-hued lager its floral aroma.

Anchor California Lager
This tribute to California's first lager (brewed in 1876) is crafted with native barley and floral, spicy Cluster hops—a favored ingredient for 19th-century brewers. The golden result is crowned by billowy foam and delivers a lingering bitterness often lacking in modern lagers.

New Belgium Shift Pale Lager
Inspired by workers sharing after-hours beers, the Colorado brewery's canned thirst quencher has a tropical profile. Its Nelson Sauvin hops, which come from New Zealand, supply notes of lychee and mango; Cascade hops add a kiss of citrus.

Flying Dog UnderDog Atlantic Lager
This light, biscuity thirst slayer was devised as an antidote to humid East Coast summers. Wheat creates the smooth mouthfeel, Goldings hops from England provide a grassy, floral bouquet, and rye dries out the finish.

Ballast Point Longfin Lager
San Diego–based Ballast Point shows a deft hand with this clean-drinking take on Germany's classic Munich helles (meaning "bright" or "light"). Snappy and grassy, it has a slightly sweet, bready flavor.

Saranac Dry Hop Lager
To give this medium-bodied lager its intense aromatics, the upstate–New York brewery turned to dry hopping, in which flavorful flowers like tangy Taurus and citrusy Opal hops are added after fermentation.

On Monday, March 13, Taylor Byrnes tweeted screenshots of the response she received from SkiptheDishes after asking about pay and benefits following her first interview at the food delivery service in Winnipeg, Canada. "Applied for a job at @SkipTheDishes. They cancelled my interview b/c I asked about wages/benefits," she wrote in a now-viral tweet. "Hi Victoria, I had another question that I wanted to ask you," Byrnes's initial email reads. "If I do end up filling this position, how much do you think I'll be getting paid an hour? Benefits will also be included, right? Sorry, I just thought I should ask now. Thanks for your time and have a lovely day," she concluded. Screenshots show that Victoria

    • Cat stuck in peanut butter jar gives birth to kittens, dies

RIVERSIDE, Calif. — A stray cat found earlier this week with its head stuck in a peanut butter jar has been euthanized, but not before giving birth to a litter of kittens. The Riverside Press-Enterprise reports (http://bit.ly/2nRx9Pv ) that the cat, named Skippy by San Jacinto shelter workers, gave birth Tuesday to four kittens: Peanut, Butter, Jelly and Honey. Skippy was later euthanized. Skippy was found Monday with her head stuck in a plastic peanut butter jar. A woman found the cat and called Animal Services Officer Carra Mathewson to cut the container off. Shelter workers discovered that Skippy was infested with maggots, had spots of dead tissue and was malnourished and dehydrated. The cat

NBA road teams are playing with historic levels of clear-headed competence, and one general manager knows who — make that what — to thank: Tinder. “No need to go to the clubs all night anymore,” the GM told ESPN for an in-depth feature about NBA players’ partying habits — to summarize: bottle service and dimly lit pick-ups mostly have been replaced by room service and app-arranged hook-ups. Messaging through Instagram actually is preferred to Tinder, according to ESPN. Players are known to have hotels leave keys for their road romances to get into their rooms before they even arrive. “It’s absolutely true that you get at least two hours more sleep getting laid on the road today versus 15 years

    • 'I Did 30 Burpees Every Day For 15 Days—Here’s What Happened’

I did some digging into the origin of the exercise, and I found out they were created in 1939 by a man named Royal H. Burpee to determine a person’s physical fitness. Back then, the move didn't include a pushup in the middle or the jump at the end, but it was still dreaded.  First, I wanted to make sure my form was on point. I decided to do the modern burpee, not the old-school version from the 1930s. I read some how-tos. To do a burpee, start from a standing position, then squat down and place your hands on the floor in front of you. Quickly kick both feet out behind you so you are in a pushup position, and then do one pushup. Next, bring your legs forward to go into a squatting position again,

    • A teen made a website where kittens punch Trump. So, Trump unleashed his lawyers.

President Trump is busy this week helping to make sure millions of Americans don't lose their health insuran — -sorry, I mean, shutting down a teenage girl. 17-year-old Lucy from San Francisco recently designed a site called Kittenfeed.com (initially called TrumpScratch), where users get to punch Trump's face with tiny little kitchen paws. It seemed like a pretty harmless, anti-Trump site (the kittens don't even scratch!) — until she got a letter from the lawyers of a certain "well known businessman," The Observer reports.  SEE ALSO: People can't stop sharing this cartoon about Trump's 'Muslim ban' That "internationally known" and "famous" businessman (his lawyers words, not mine) is, of course, Donald Trump. In the letter, Trump's general counsel encourages the teen to cease and desist and shut down the website.  Image: www.kittenfeed.com After receiving the letter, Lucy decided to change the name of the website to Kittenfeed.com. That wasn't enough for Trump's counsel, who reportedly continued to press the 17-year-old girl. The family is waiting to see their next move. "It’s so sad that his administration is focused more on being liked, burying real news and taking down sites like mine as they supposedly make him look bad," Lucy told The Observer. Predictably, Trump's lawyers letter had the opposite effect of their intention. After The Observer published the report yesterday, the site's visitors surged from 3,000 to 50,000. Lesson: you can mess with Trump's lawyers, but don't you ever touch an animated kitten. WATCH: Robotic glove lets people with limited hand mobility perform daily tasks
