    • Reheating Rice Can Give You Food Poisoning If You Don't Do This

Although reheating takeout when you're too busy to cook is one of life's great pleasures, leftover rice can actually be scarily bad for you, the NHS say. Because if you didn't already know, you can get a pretty grim case of food poisoning from eating reheated rice; it's not the reheating that causes the problem, but instead the way the rice has been stored after being cooked the first time. So uncooked rice often contains spores (cells capable of reproducing quickly) of Bacillus cereus — a bacteria strand that can cause food poisoning — that can survive when rice is cooked. And if the rice is left standing at room temperature after it's been boiled, the spores can grow into bacteria, which will

When they arrived, they found the three dead suspects and two uninjured residents. Sheriff's spokesman Deputy Nick Mahoney said the suspects enetered the home through a glass back door with the intent to burglarize it. It was not immediately clear why they picked that home. • Jacqueline Laurita Confirms She Left Real Housewives Of New Jersey After She Was Only Offered A Part-Time Role

I always wonder what really happened when a Real Housewife says she is leaving a Real Housewives show “to pursue other opportunities” or some other vague statement about moving on. With some serious exceptions, I can’t imagine why anyone would quit a show with such a large platform, so I always find it tough to believe that any of these ladies leave of their own accord. Jacqueline Laurita came clean about why she will not be back on Real Housewives of New Jersey. As a viewer, I am honestly not a fan of Jacqueline’s, but as a self-proclaimed reality TV expert, I feel like this show needs her around to provide opposition and controversy. Sure, I could do without the popcorn promotion and the plastic

    • When it wouldn't stop raining, this family did a muddy maternity photoshoot instead (15 photos)

(All photos courtesy of Elaine Baca, Lane B Photograph ) Parenting is messy, but as this family of four show, it can also be plenty of fun. Jon and Brittany Barton were planning a maternity shoot to celebrate their third child, but the weather was proving to be very uncooperative. “In Waxahachie, Texas when it rains it pours. In the weeks leading up to the maternity session, the rain was relentless,” said photographer Elaine Baca of Lane B Photography . “We had rescheduled the session a couple of times already and Brittany was quickly approaching the end of her pregnancy, so we knew he might come any day.” Baca went back and forth with the Bartons discussing outfits and alternative indoor locations but the family were very outdoorsy and knew that simply wasn’t them. “Then I suggested something a little unconventional. They have a huge backyard which backs up to a field and I knew it had lots of muddy puddles, so I asked her what she thought about playing in the rain and ending with a mud fight. I don’t think she even hesitated, she said she trusted my vision and wanted to go for it!” said Baca. So with Declan, 4, and Noah, 2, in tow, the family spent the day getting up to some muddy mischief and the results were amazing! “For me, photo sessions are all about preserving memories and making new ones. With small children it’s about remembering their ever changing personalities and quirks that make them unique,” Baca said. “[This way] parents don’t have to stress about getting their little ones to sit still and look at the camera and kids get to be kids while doing something everyone enjoys.” And the Bartons definitely looked like they enjoyed themselves alright!
