I bought a sapphire & diamond pendant for my wife as a wedding gift. It was the “something blue” from the Old English rhyme. The pendant itself was beautiful, but the chain was kinked. We returned it to Blue Nile for a fix (though they initially ...wanted us to pay for the shipping). Upon return, we received a kinked chain that was also newly knotted. The service from Blue Nile has been an unfortunate and frustrating experience, with some promised return calls having gone forgotten. I’d say a simple fix would be to send us a kink-free chain. Blue Nile’s production team can’t seem to make this happen and would rather we return the product for a second time. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Indeed, I’m quite disappointed, especially since this gift has a lot of meaning to me and my wife. Read more Less
Guess I'm not the only one who had to deal with the terrible customer service. Beware customers, even the supervisor is very rude. Never recommending and buying from them ever again. STAY AWAY!!
Purchased a loose diamond. After extensive searching on and off for 3 years found a Fantastic deal on Blue Nile I noticed now and then they are some good deals. With that being said you need to do your homework before purchasing, ask questions to the...vault gemologist who has the diamond. I also recommend the HCA calculator. My diamond is spectacular!!! Customer service agent was very rude and not helpful. Supervisor is not available at the time of call. When the supervisor called me back she accused me that I was rude not an agent.
Blue Nile was the best experience I have ever had. The diamond was perfect and the customer service was perfect.
I returned a diamond because it was only just "nice" despite having the right "credentials" for an excellent stone. That was a month ago and the return has still not been credited to my credit card. Also it was a hassle to mail back and was quite expe...nsive.I ended up going to a website where you can see videos of the diamonds and talk with an expert while you both look at the stone. So beware - it's easier to purchase then return and you don't really know what you are getting. Read more Less
Against all the opinions I got from forums like Weddingbee and http:/
com, I decided to bite the bullet and made a purchase as there was a money back guarantee in place. How i regret that decision when the ring arrived. What ...was determined as eye clean was #$%$ and lies trying to get you to purchase. Beware of what they tell you to make you buy something from them. It was promptly sent back. Read more Less
After carefully selecting two diamonds that were nearly identical in all aspects, I ordered them to be set as earrings and was given a delivery date about two weeks out. five days later I get notified that one of the diamonds ordered was sold immedia...tely before I placed my order. Would have been nice if they told me that the next day before they charged my credit cards. I canceled the order--I should have read these reviews beforehand. Despite the problem, I consider myself lucky-now I know. Read more Less
I don't know where to begin. From soup to nuts Blue Nile was the worst experience in buying a diamond I ever had. I can't get a charge off of my credit card for a cancelled order and worst of all the more I call the meaner the customer service reps b...ecome. I thought I was being paranoid and then my wife assured me that they were being nasty because they were doing the same thing to her. I have tried to call for a supervisor but they keep putting me on the phone with just another customer service rep that gets angry and refuses to help me. One even hung up on me when he said he was transferring me to a department he probably made up. God forbid you make changes in anything with them and they freak out. My wife collects diamonds and always wanted to try Blue Nile. Big big big mistake. They don't even have good prices for what they offer but that is besides the point. They were mean to me and they were mean to my wife. I tried to file a complaint but it was impossible. I've never had a jewelry store treat me this way and we are good customers at many stores because my wife is a collector. Now we weren't purchasing a cheap diamond. We purchased two very expensive diamonds and still they treated us like #$%$. We ended up returning the items. We were told by three separate jewelers that the diamonds we purchased had major problems and were overpriced but again that was not a big deal for us. The problem was the customer service. Now we can't get a charge off of our card and are considering contacting an attorney since we can't talk to a manager or supervisor. I honestly don't understand how they stay in business treating people this way. My wife wanted to purchase her engagement ring there years ago. THANK GOD I talked her out of it. I'm warning people here because I just don't know how else to complain about the service I received and I don't want to see someone else go through the same problems. It's hard enough purchasing a diamond online that you cannot look at let alone having low level customer service reps make you feel like #$%$ for exchanging a couple times for VALID REASONS!!! Having a lot of diamond experience I suggest if you are looking for a diamond to shop around at your local stores instead or I have been told James Allen is better because you can see the diamond but I haven't used them so that is second hand info. BUYER BEWARE big time!!! At least if you get a diamond you don't like at a local store they usually will help you exchange it for something you will like without being mean, nasty or degrading. BLUE NILE LOST A POTENTIALLY GREAT CLIENT because they are awful. The only good thing is the diamonds arrived via overnight Fedex and safely. Please folks watch your back especially if you are buying an engagement ring. Thank you for whoever read this. I needed to tell someone my experience because Blue Nile WOULD NOT LISTEN TO ME!!! Shame on them!!! Read more Less
