Flower lip butter

Flower lip butter

Oh, you have your own fashion line and fragrance? So what! Nowadays, it seems that it’s not enough for you to just be a celebrity with your own clothing line, fragrance, shoes, the list can go on and on. Now, several celebs even have their own beauty product line! If you're wondering if any of these products are worth shopping for, read on to see which picks made my list.

Flower by Drew Barrymore

What it is: The former face of CoverGirl cosmetics, this actress/new mom is the latest to join the cosmetic club.

Her new line, Flower, features the tag line “Love The Way You Look.” Available for purchase at Wal-Mart and Walmart.com, there are 181 units in the collection that ranges from eyeliners to nail polish.

The packaging itself is pretty clean and simple which is great because (and this is just my personal opinion) beauty products that feature tons of embellishments are usually a turn off.

According to recent article in Women’s Wear Daily, which announced the launching of the line, the formulas are custom-made at the same price as those used in luxury products.

Key product: Lip Butter ($6.98, Walmart.com) Anything that has the word “butter” in it has to be amazing, right? Well, this is no different. Available in 9 shades (some are already sold out), this lip moisturizer glides on smooth and leaves lips feeling super soft with a hint of shine.

Nuance by Salma Hayek

Nuance By Salma Hayek

What it is: Who knew that Salma harbored such a love for beauty products? The actress and mom is the brains behind beauty brand Nuance, an impressive array of cosmetics, hair as well as skincare products.

Inspired by her grandmother, Hayek says she created the line “to help every woman enhance the nuances that define her individual beauty.” Each product is available for purchase exclusively at CVS and CVS.com.

Key product: Anti-Aging Wrinkle Filler Eye Serum ($20, CVS.com) As a personal skincare product hoarder, it makes sense that I would gravitate more towards these items in the line. The Anti-Aging Wrinkle Filler Eye Serum contains one of those cooling rollerballs, which makes for easy application. Each of her skincare products boasts some type of “beauty secret” outlined on the side of the package so you can pretend that you’re exclusively privy to some exotic ingredients while applying.

CoverGirl Queen Collection Jumbo Gloss Balm

CoverGirl Queen Collection by Queen Latifah

What it is: Rapping, acting, singing…there isn’t much this woman hasn’t done! She not only serves as the face of CoverGirl, but she’s also got her very own stand alone collection with the brand specifically targeted to women of color.

Key product: CoverGirl Queen Collection Jumbo Gloss Balm ($7.49, at Target and other drugstores nationwide) In addition to hoarding skincare products, I’m also known to do the same with lip gloss. However, this year, I’ve promised myself and the rest of my beauty blogging friends that I’m going to strictly stick to lipstick. However, this gloss balm is like the perfect hybrid between a lip gloss and a lipstick in that it leaves your lips super soft and hydrated with.

Meaningful Beauty by Cindy Crawford

Meaningful Beauty by Cindy Crawford

Meaningful Beauty By Cindy Crawford

What it is: Yes, she’s one of the most stunning women to ever walk the planet. Alright, so maybe that’s a bit of a stretch, but you have to admit that Cindy Crawford is a pretty attractive lady. That’s basically how her skincare line started: she wanted to be able to maintain her beauty while still living her busy life. So, she partnered with French anti-aging specialist Dr. Jean Louis Sebagh (the man responsible for helping her to maintain that amazing skin of hers over the years) to develop her own line of skincare products.

Yahoo! Shopping Editor, Krista DeWeese has been using the Meaningful Beauty products for 5 weeks and noticed a huge difference in the texture and tone of her skin. Krista says, "In just a short amount of time, my skin is totally renewed. I've used many products over the course of a decade and haven't seen results this dramatic! My pores are disappearing and my skin tone is even, and I didn't even have to wait that long to see a difference."

Key product: Crème de Serum (bundled with the New Advanced System, $39.95, meaningfulbeauty.com and also available at Sephora inside of JCPenney stores) It’s already quite confusing to figure out whether or not you should use a cream or serum. This is why it’s a great thing that Cindy and Dr. Sebagh figured that we all needed both so she created this triple potency product that combines the power of a serum with the rich moisturizing effects of a cream. Genius!

Khroma Beauty

Khroma Beauty

Khroma Beauty by Kim, Kourtney & Khloe Kardashian

What it is: They’ve already oversaturated the clothing market, so why not add in beauty? Say what you want about these reality starlets, but their makeup always looks flawless, so it makes total sense that they would come out with their own line of cosmetics.

Key product: Khloe’s Kardazzle Face Palette ($12.99, ulta.com) While I can’t say that I’ve tested every single item in the cosmetic line, I can say that I am a fan of this palette that contains the perfect eyeshadow to create a nude, smoky eye. As an added bonus, it also contains a blush and bronzer so it’s perfect for on-the-go touch ups.

It’s “Live with . . . Caitlyn!” On Tuesday morning’s “Live with Kelly” show, Caitlyn Jenner was a guest — and possibly one of the rudest ever. Jenner, who appeared to promote her memoir, “The Secrets of My Life,” continuously cut off Kelly Ripa and guest co-host, John Leguizamo. At one point, Jenner even turned the tables on Ripa, asking when she first identified as a female. “Just think about that,” she said, pointing her manicured finger at Ripa. “When did you know you were a girl?” Jenner then made Leguizamo her target, asking him how he enjoyed dressing in drag in the 1995 comedy, “To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar.” The painful 15-minute interview consisted of endless, self-congratulatory

    • Ancient people left a frightening message for us, and scientists just found it

10,000 years from now (assuming humans haven't been wiped out by a plague, space rock, or our own destructive tendencies), it'll probably be fairly easy for the average person to research what life was like in 2017. For us here today, finding out what life was like in 11,000BC is much more challenging, but by studying ancient stone carvings and pairing the somewhat confusing messages with archeological data, researchers believe they've discovered concrete evidence of an apocalyptic event that may have altered the future of mankind: a comet strike. The study, performed by a team of researchers from the University of Edinburgh ( PDF ), suggests that a potentially cataclysmic comet strike rapidly and dramatically altered the Earth's climate for hundreds of years, sending humanity into a mini ice age with nearly glacial conditions. The time period when this occurred is known as the Younger Dryas, and has been well documented thanks to ample evidence of the cooling found in core samples, but its cause has been theorized and debated for a long while. Now, thanks to stone carvings left by ancient people in modern day Turkey, researchers believe that a comet was the culprit. The carvings are remarkably preserved and appear to have been created to document an apocalyptic event which devastated the land. Figures depicted in the carvings, including apparently deceased, headless human bodies and other wildlife, were made at around the time the Younger Dryas began, suggesting that the event archived in stone could have been the same one that caused the thousand-year cold snap. The carvings were found at what is considered to be one of the oldest and most important temple sites on the planet, and for the images to appear there suggests that they have enormous historical significance. The Younger Dryas is often credited with pushing ancient humans to band together out of pure necessity, forming the foundation of modern agriculture and other huge advancements in civilization. The idea that a comet may have been responsible for pushing humanity forward is an extremely interesting, and potentially frightening possibility. The findings are far from an iron clad confirmation, but the timing matches up shockingly well, and would have to be a fantastic coincidence if the two events are actually unrelated.
