Catalogs for Fall fashion are already sitting in department stores, awaiting our eyes to bulge and knees weaken as we make mental lists of what potential frocks will make their way to our closets. If you're a big Target designer collaboration fan, here's some news for you! It has been announced today that New York-based designer Phillip Lim will be creating an exclusive 3.1 Phillip Lim line for Target that includes designs for both women and men, and will be available on September 15th this year. Since this is a limited edition line, I suggest you line up on the day it releases. Mark your calendars!

On the Target.com press release page, Lim says: “Since an early age, I’ve been intrigued by the idea of design evolution. One of the reasons I wanted to collaborate with Target is because I felt that together we could create a collection that would inspire – one that is cool and chic, but still very accessible.”

The line will include more than 100 items with a nice price range between $20 and $300 being the most expensive, but a majority of those items will be available at just under $50. Looking at the designer's 31philliplim.com website, the retail prices for a corded t-shirt will set you back $750, with dresses ranging from $450 to $850.  You'll be saving hundreds of dollars on Lim's designs come this September.

    • Dont'a Hightower clearly tired of Patriots fans asking him to take hometown discount

Dont’a Hightower appears to be able to relate to Martellus Bennett’s sentiment on Twitter. Martellus Bennett grew tired of the New England Patriots fans who were insisting he should take less money to stay with the team. Bennett flipped the script on those Twitter users Wednesday to ask them whether they’d take less money in their job. Hightower then chimed in. Both Bennett and Hightower have yet to strike a deal with the Patriots, and could enter free agency without a contract. They could then sign with another team. The Patriots have shown some interest in keeping both players, but New England typically tries to stay within a specific price point, which may not suit either player. The Patriots

    • California's punishing rain creates rare spectacle

First the rain, now the drain. California’s punishing rain this month has flooded neighborhoods and triggered evacuations. It has also pushed Lake Berryessa in Napa County way beyond capacity, pouring water into its bathtub-like drain. It’s the first time that’s happened in 11 years, reports CBS News correspondent Mireya Villarreal. “Back in October, we were essentially half-full,” said Roland Sanford, general manager of the Solano County Water Agency. “This is the first time that the lake has been so low, and filled-up and spilled in one year.” What looks calm at the top of the “Morning Glory Spillway” looks like a raging torrent at the bottom. The spillway is located 200 feet from the Monticello

DEAR AMY: My husband and I have two boys, ages 7 and 4. The 7-year-old is a great traveler, but the last time we flew on a plane, when he was 5, our older son completely freaked out. I think the sound of the engine and the motion of the takeoff and landing scared him. He was fine once we were in the air, but to this day he says that he never wants to fly on a plane. He also had a big fear of bounce houses, also because of the sound of the air being blown into them, but after a couple years of avoiding bounce houses he actually had a lot of fun on one. It was a small miracle. My question is about travel. We have been avoiding trips that would involve flying, but we would like to try to take a

Records from former U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr.'s divorce case show how he has been able to collect hefty benefit checks from the federal government after serving time in prison for looting hundreds of thousands of dollars from his campaign fund. Most of that — about $100,000 — is workers' compensation and tax-free, according to Chicago attorney Barry Schatz, who is representing Jackson in his divorce proceeding. The rest of Jackson's benefits are Social Security Disability Insurance payments, some of which may be taxable, Schatz said. The payments flow to Jackson because he has bipolar disorder and depression — the issues that led to an extended leave from Congress in 2012 — and those conditions have been exacerbated by a "very difficult, contentious divorce" from former Chicago Ald.

    • This drone video perfectly captures the dread of falling into an abyss

There's just something about big, deep voids that strike fear in the deepest reaches of the human brain. Black holes and whirlpools are great examples of this, as is the Glory Hole Spillway in Napa, California. A massive hole in Lake Berryessa helps regulate an overflow of water at the lake's dam, and when a recent spat of wet weather caused the spillway to overflow for the first time, one intrepid drone pilot decided to see just how close he could get. The answer: too close. Starting at an altitude of 1,000 feet, drone pilot David B navigated his drone slowly downwards, perfectly in line with the Glory Hole. Everything was going smoothly, and you can even see a different drone checking out the hole prior to David B's attempt, but then things got a little dicey. "When I lowered the drone into the Glory Hole it became unstable and almost crashed into the side," he says. Luckily, he was able to make a last second ascent before the drone actually came in contact with the rushing water. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMLulzPZBC0 The video is awesome, but it's not the only glimpse of the watery abyss that was filmed that day. Local news station Lake Berryessa News was able to capture its own look at the spillway in action, and got mighty close to the danger zone as well. I might have gone with a slightly different choice of musical accompaniment — maybe Waterfalls by TLC — but the video is mighty impressive nonetheless. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxOOnKL265I
