### My husband does the vacuuming. (Yeah) and I admit I don't often use it, but he loves it. He uses an old bottle brush to get everything out of the cannister when he empties it. When I do use it for attachments, I often can't figure out how to get the...hose off the vacuum. He shows me but sometimes can't get it off right away himself. We got a much lower price from Amazon than the one listed about a year ago. Still it was expensive. Read more Less

### We have owned the Dyson Animal vacuum for 8+ years, and it still works as good today as it did out of the box! We have 2 long haired cats, and our old vacuum just didn't keep up, or suck up any clumps off of some rugs. This one STILL does the job! We...would recommend, and buy another one of these products. Because of our recommendation, both of our parents now own one! Great job Dyson! Read more Less
### I have had this vacuum for 4 years. I love it. I got it as a refurb from Overstock for $200 and my husband got part of our rug stuck in it and burned up the beater motor. Cost $50 to repair, so nothing to it. This vacuum is awesome because you can cl...ean it out with water, let it dry, and it stays clean like a dream! No other vacuum is as good as this one. I used to have a Kirby when I lived with my parents, it was bulky, heavy and a pain to change the attachments. Read more Less
I was never so suprised in my life. how much dirt came out of the carpet the first time and i hear it just keeps getting more each time you use it I won't ever buy another vacuum and thanks to a very nice Lowe's salesperson got a good deal on it also
### Highly recommend purchasing the Dyson DC41, which is worth the extra cost. The vacuum picked up the fine dog hairs along with the dirt embedded into the carpet. Our vacuum quickly filled up with dog hairs and dirt, which was repulsive. The Dyson is s...mall and compact, easy to move around, and light enough to carry on the stairs. The vacuum comes with three attachments, a small hand held motor, a nozzle, and a long wand. No longer need to purchase bags or filters. Read more Less
This vacuum we've had now for about 6 years and we still love it. It works great and is easy to use. I recommend this one if you want to spend the money on it, it will last you years.
### This is the best vacuum cleaner I've ever owned. I bought the Animal when I bought a new house and wanted to keep my new carpets new. Love the canister which keeps the dirt/dust contained and both are easily disposed of with no mess. Vac is lightweig...ht and the ball provides easy manipulation to clean even tight places. The hose and attachments are easy to access; just a few parts snapping on/off which makes cleaning easier with less hassle. The best part is the Animal has awesome suction and cleans dust, pet hair and even leaves (yes, I've used it on the porch) and stairs efficiently. It's sturdy and has a very long cord. I can's say anything negative about the Animal except I wish I had one 20 years ago - Dyson you're a genius!! Read more Less
### My ex-wife insisted we buy the Dyson Animal. At $600, I thought it was an amazing rip off but I had eventually heard enough and we got one in 2006. I have four dogs (including a Saint and a Golden), but if you call this thing the Animal and charge fo...ur times what a typical vacuum costs, I expect it to do an outstanding job regardless of the challenge. It did… for a few months. Then it broke a belt, and another, and another. Each call to Dyson tech support was a two hour waste of my life where I would have to take the whole thing apart and have them lambast me for not cleaning every last bit of dog hair out of it every time I use it. It’s a vacuum, not an Indy car. I don’t expect to be required to tune it up after every use. They would eventually send me a new belt. After it ate several belts, they sent me a new canister. A few more, they sent me a new brush bar. Still breaks belts. Now it is out of warranty. The piece of **** is getting loud again signaling it is about to break. When this belt breaks, it is going in the trash. The performance severely degraded over the first year or so. Even with all the new parts, I would say it was no better than the 10 year old bagged Hover it replaced. The best part is, every time the belt broke, I was without a vacuum for two to three weeks. Did I mention I have four dogs??? We bought a $79 Hover to serve as a backup because we just couldn’t not vacuum for three weeks with four dogs in the house. Want a final indication of how bad the Dyson is? When my ex-wife left, she took the backup $79 Hover instead of the $600 Dyson. Save your money. Buy anything else. My guess is half of these 5 star reviewers already regret their purchase after the lack of Dyson quality started to become evident. Read more Less
### I bought this vacuum in 2006 after having to throw away many other brands that claim to never clogged. When my Dyson arrived I decided to put it to the test. I vacuumed my floors with my other wind tunnel not once but twice. I then used my Dyson on t...he same supposedly clean floors and carpet and to my amaze and delight two full canisters of pet hair and dirt was removed. Six years later I am still Dyson number one fan...By the way my allergies aren't as bad and I never have a sneezing attack while vacuuming! Thank you Dyson for making high quality products. I bought my son the Dyson animal ball for Christmas, I can't wait to hear the results he has. Thank you Dyson for making high quality products. Read more Less
