    ### ON TONER ISSUE you can get at sams club very cheap so it is no longer a issue. I have printed over 10000 pages and it hasn't failed or slowed down yet... when it fails I will be purchasing a new on just like it...if you can get it for less than 150 y...ou will get a very good deal. • HP LaserJet 1020

    By Smawgunner  Apr 16, 2010

I've had this for a couple years now and it's been the best printer I've ever owned. Haven't yet had to replace ink cartridges. Bought a Mac and now it's not compatible!

    ### I was looking for a good laser printer for a while. Finally I was introduced to HP 1020. Fisrt of all the price was very suitable for me. The printing speed is very good too. Now I'm very satisfied for buying this product. There will be no problem...printing my thesis, I hope! Read more Less

  • Nice peformer, but lacks the simple things

By Yahoo! Shopping User  Jul 12, 2006

    ### I have always been a fan of HP printers and devices. This is one of the best printers I have come accross, especially for the price. Sadly, no USB cable was included in the box, so I had to buy that seperate. Also, the toner for this beast is expensi...ve (but I didn't have to tell you that). Toner for every printer seems to be expensive, right? :) Read more Less

  • barGAIN aGAIN, great GAIN

    By SERR  Jan 22, 2007

    ### My toner on my antiquated HP 4L would have cost me $101 to replace. I paid $160 for the HP 1020 printer and USB cable. The paper tray is also a snap to load. The toner cost about $59, cheaper than other HP models. The printer feels solid and you have...the HP quality backing you up (even though the company is going thru some shakedown for the moment). • Buy it!

By Shopper from Torrance  Feb 23, 2009

Bought this for $99 over a year ago at Costco. Wish I would have bought more to resell them!!! I used refurb cartridges and the printer prints great. This printer is a real work horse.

  • Just what I needed.

    By Bonnie B  Mar 6, 2007

Needed a laser printer for my home office. Already have an HP all-in-one, was able to use the same printer cable and I just switch cables whenever I need to swap printers ... nothing to it. Very good print quality for a very low price.

  • Love this printer

    By JanMishkin  Nov 5, 2009

    ### This printer was available when Vista first rolled out. I would find it on sale for $99 and full price was usually about $140. It was rated the highest small printer in one of the PC magazines so I was shocked when Vista came out without a driver for...it. Since then the HP 1008 has replaced it and it is good, but I loved the 1020. There is an on/off switch instead of a button so when I have it on the powerstrip, the 1020 turns on when I power up the strip; the 1008 has power button has to be pushed. It prints quickly and not too loudly. Toner seems to last forever. Two years ago it was a great value, with today's pricing I wouldn't pay this much. Read more Less

It's hard not to like this nippy little printer. While available for pocket-money prices it is built to the same quality standards as other HP printers and there's really no competition without shelling out a lot more dough. Read more
