  • It is amazing.

    By skybluecat  Dec 9, 2008

    ### I do a lot of cooking, and the ex wife got the other one I bought (even though she never used it! life isn't just). But, the point is I finally I bought another one; and, it is indeed as amazing as others say. It's worth ever penny ultimately, and if...you love to cook, go out there and get it. You'll love it, and it will save you time and get the job done for you everytime. It really is as good as everyone says! Read more Less

    ### I have cooked almost all of my life and I had never used a stand mixer. I now know I missed out on a lot of easy preparation recipes for baking and general cooking that used this contraption. I purchased the Artisan Mixer(In Black) from Macy's in ear...ly October for $299.00 and it was well worth it. I've been cooking my own pizza from scratch, baking Italian breads, Italian Sausage and using the mixing qualities of this well designed and heavy as hell mixer. The only thing I can say is definitely costly is the attachments. They are expensive. All said if you want to cook like a Food Channel pro this mixers for you. Read more Less

The KitchenAid mixers are scale replicas of the Hobart - in the 5 Qt. model and up. Hobarts were orignally made the th...e late 19th century and still use the SAME agitators sold with the 5 Qt. model. One model is over 6 feet tall. It had an electric motor to raise and lower the bowl into a caster wheel cart, as the contents were simply too heavy. The 5 Qt. is very professional. Read more Less

in my twenties I decided to own fewer things but to make sure they were of high quality. In 1982 I bought a McIntosh power amplifier. It's built like a tank but I still have it. The Kithenaid mixer is another McIntosh amp.
