  • Wonderful even after 7 years!!!

    By Deb  Apr 4, 2011

We purchased this vac about 7 years ago because we had two cats and just had a baby. The vac was wonderful right out of the box, after a few uses I have mastered all the tools that came with it! The only tiny drawback is the hose. It is not long enou...gh to reach higher than about 5 feet stretched. It would be great to be able to vac the ceiling fans and the tops of pictures and curtians. We now have a German Shepard who sheds A LOT and this vac still sucks up all the dog hair I can give it! I have NEVER had an issue with it so I don't know about the support comments. I can only imagine it would be effecient and quick. I will never own another and if this one ever craps out I will certianly save for another!!! Read more Less

  • Dyson DC 28 airmuscle

    By JOSEPH  May 7, 2011

We bought our DC28 a little over two months ago. We have had Electrolux (canister), Panasonic (upright), Sears Elite (upright), Hoover Wind Tunnel and several others in the $250-$350 range previously. With two dogs whose function seems to be to shed,... we were constantly vacuuming up pet hair. Worse we were constantly taking the da-- Vacs apart to clear up hair jams in the hoses and elsewhere. This Airmuscle not only picks up ALL the hair easily, it does so without our having to dismantle it every time we use it. Fast, quiet, THOROUGH cleaning. What else could one ask for? By the way, we went on E-Bay and bought ours, with all attachments, from an authorized factory-direct refurb store for $389!!! Came with full 5 year warrantee and I couldn't tell the difference from the store version other than that it came in a generic brown box. The cord is also longer than most of our previouys models which means more vacuum time, less plug/unplug time. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who wants a quality, high-performance, efficient and easy to use vac. Read more Less

    By wayniack  Apr 3, 2011

Over all I'm completely satisfied with my one of my few good purchases as an adult. Mine is purple and I got it new and I like to believe I will have it the rest of my life.

  • Working as expected

    By MrsJ  May 12, 2011

This unit works great. We have a dog, two short hair cats and two long hair cats and this machine is able to handle all the fur. I do a daily vac of all the carpet and a weekly vac of the baseboards, furniture and stairs. This machine actually fluffs... up the carpet when it goes over it. When using the unit on bare tile it works fine. I have found that you can not go over any thresholds while on bare floor it will cause the unit to lose suction. The filters are easy to wash and they dry quickly, 48 hours. I would recommend this unit to anyone. Read more Less

  • Best Vacuum on market!

    By Ellen  Apr 3, 2011

I love my Dyson DC28. It cleans the best for the locations it "can reach". Not enough attachments - need better attachment for carpeted stairs, and additional longer hose to accommodate long reaches. I checked with Dyson and at this time its not avai...lable. Would have to also buy the canister version and, still, the short hose there would be a problem. Also, as expensive as the Dyson is, additional attachments are very pricey. Still, it is the best made vacuum I have ever owned. Read more Less

  • DC 28 destroyed my floors

    By Capnjim  Apr 3, 2011

I bought the DC28 From Best buy to use as a combo unit on floors with Brazilian cherry and carpet. The very first time I used it on the wood the unit cut an 18 inch long groove in my cherry floors. The roller carriage has edge tracks that should retr...act when lowered....they didnt and the suction is so strong it pulled it down and into the floor. I endured a litinay of dealing with Dyson reps and sending photos.Even after the store sales people agreed that the tracks projected farther than their store model...a rep from Dyson also agreed the tracks stuck down farther than they should... which is stupid...they cut grooves inn the floor. I sent the unit back and they then replied that there was nothing wrong and send a replacement. Guess what?? It cut my floor again. Another round of complaints got mw a refund but no floor repair. This product and company is a sham. Read more Less

  • The DC28 Animal that died

    By joeld  Apr 3, 2011

This machine worked for about 5 -6 months and then lost it's suction power. It was if it had died a slow death. I would never recommend this machine to anyone.

  • Great product. Great price.

    By Mare  Jan 14, 2013

I purchased this as the deal of the day on Best Buy.com for $299. That is an awesome deal. I also own the Dyson Animal DC07. It is at least 7 years old. I have dropped it down the stairs several times. Tipped it over in the driveway while vacuuming m...y car. It is still going. I also own a collie. It is the best vacuum ever for pets. I decided to get the DC28 because of the price. The cord is at least 2 1/2 feet shorter. It seems as heavy or maybe slightly heavier. I am not sure it will survive as long as my first but we will see. I have owned Hoovers, Kenmore, and Eurekas...Dyson is the best vacuum I have ever owned. Read more Less
