Description

Housed in durable steel, this gas grill features plenty of room for outdoor cooking--630 square inches total. The unit's 438-square-inch main grilling area nicely accommodates burgers, shish kabobs, or summer vegetables, while its warming rack offers 192 square inches of space for heating buns or keeping already-cooked foods at a perfect serving temperature. The grill supplies three stainless-steel burner tubes that generate a total of 40,800 BTUs, plus a 12,000-BTU side burner for heating up sauces to slather onto meat or grilled tofu. Other highlights include simple electronic ignition with an igniter probe on every burner, porcelain-coated cast-iron grates, dual stacks for even heating, and a front panel to conceal the propane tank. Its stainless-steel thermometer, stay-cool hood handle, large side shelf, and smooth-rolling wheels provide added convenience, and utensil hooks come included for keeping spatulas, tongs, and other tools within reach.

  • Char-Grill 3001

    By Berle  May 28, 2011

Char-Griller 3001This grill is an great value and will do an excellent job of makingyour BBQ a success. The twin chimneys provide an excellent even heating with only one one or two of the three burners being used. The burners are well protected from ...dripping fat and the grill is rugged and well protected from corrosion by a ceramic coating. My only compliant is the the bottom of the cylinder shaped body where fat dripping collect. The level horizontal surface of the bottom of the unit does not provide a gradient for the fat drippings to run off into the collecting pan. The unit is put together with sheet metal screws which do not provide a tight seal and fat tends to drip on the bottom plate that holds the gas bottle. This can be remedied by lining the bottom of the cooking oven with heavy tin foil before the unit is used. After the grill has been used a few times and cooled off, the foil and the fat dripping have solidified, the foil and fat can be removed and the bottom of the cylinder relined with fresh foil. The valve on top of the gas cylinder is hard to reach from the left side because a strut is in the way. The burners and the protective shield are easily removed and the igniters for each of the three burners work very well. If the front plate on the bottom had a hand access hole to reach the gas cylinder valve would be great improvement. If your going to leave the 3001 gas unit outdoors the cover provided as an extra leaks at the seams and I would suggest buying a more robust generic cover. This is an excellent rugged grill and I would recommend it highly after two years of use. Read more Less
