  • The future of iPods (I think)

    By edwina  Jul 18, 2008

    ### I purchased my iPod Touch in March with the software update, and recently just updated it with the 2.0 firmware. The iPod Touch is a well-valued music player that has some excellent outstanding features. The cover flow is a nice feature, and I love...the arrangement of the music section. You can simply scroll through songs, albums, genres, artists, and composers, as well as podcasts. I do miss the click wheel, but the ease of the Touch screen is a nice step up. *If you're thinking about getting the 8GB, and worried about space, just think about everything you have. My music library is never more than 400 songs, and is constantly chaning, so it is not extremely large or expansive. I have about 4 videos, that most I'll have at one time is about 8, and right now I have just a couple photos. It just depends on how much you want to keep. So for me the 8GB is just perfect. Video and photo features are nice, though I don't have much of either. Watching videos on landscape mode is a thing of beauty though, the widescreen is nice to watch on while on-the-go. You can save photos from emails received, or sync them easily. What I'm really loving about the iPod Touch is the new App store. After paying a fee of $9.99 you can download a lot of different applications that can range from entertaining to social networking to pure silliness. The App store is really something you need to check out for yourself, it is so hard to rave about it under a 4,000 word max! But the App store is one the best features of the iTouch. You get the "perks" of the iPhone without the phone, in a sense. The Safari + YouTube buttons of the iPod Touch are nice features as well. When you have WiFi connection, you can easily scroll through sites, check out videos, and countless other things. The sound quality of the earphones still isn't that great. I hope they improve, but I recommend upgrading to Bose earphones. Much better. Battery life can get sucked if you put the backlight on full blast, and use Safari or other WiFi applications for a long while. But it really depends on what you do with your iPod. Overall, it is clear that I like the iPod Touch. There are some improvements that could be made, but I love the iPod's features and it versatility. Read more Less

    ### If a picture says a thousand words, think of what all the album art in your collection might say. With Cover Flow on iPod touch, you can flick through your music to find the album you want to hear. And when you do, a quick tap of the cover flips it o...ver to display a track list. Another tap starts the music. Read more Less

  • Not overrated at all

    By JordanC  Jan 25, 2008

    ### I asked for the Ipod Touch for christmas from my parents because i previously had an ipod shuffle and i wanted a newer ipod with a screen. The ipod touch appealed to me because of its state of the art portable internet capabilities, and its large screen. cover flow on the ipod touch is a nice way to browse through music, and it is an interesting way to do so. Nevertheless, i dont use it that often because i find it easier to use playlists and artist search. the screen is made of glass, so it is virtually impossible to scratch. I dont have any scratches on it and fingerprints are easy to just wipe off to make it look better. I cant say the same for the chrome back of my ipod however...within just the first day of having it, i had a few hairline scratches on it, which are very noticeable and subtract from the sleekness of the entire thing. But only a little bit. Safari (wifi internet) is a very convienient and cool app to use. i use it very frequently actually...if im at a wifi hotspot (which are almost everywhere nowadays) then i can switch on my ipod, and check my email, facebook, etc...and all the while playing music at the same time. Playing music doesnt even affect the speed of the browser either. I know youre wondering that with all these things in the ipod, how long can the battery last running them all? well on a full charge, lets say that i can listen to music and browse the internet wirelessly for about 2 and a half hours straight. Listening to only music and doing nothing else, it can last a whole day (ive done that already; try driving all the way to virginia from maryland and back in one day). best of all, viewing pictures hardly impacts the battery. i was suprised on how long the battery lasted off one full charge myself. All in all, this is a great product. I can really give it to apple on this one. As if they already didnt own the technologic world with macs, other ipods, and the iphone...Ipod touch is an amazing ipod with everything you would expect from a regular ipod, but even more jam-packed into a sleek, sexy package. • I Love it!

    By Karina  Apr 11, 2009

    ### I love my ipod touch. Even though I'm 10 I still use it for so many things. I can research online, listen to music, and get great apps. The touch screen is amazing. And the photo gallery is awesome I can see so many pictures of my bff's and my family.... The only bad thing about it is the battery life not lasting long, how easily it gets scratched, and many many fingerprints smudged onto the screen. Either than that the touch is gr8t. Read more Less
