Description

The EtherFast® Wireless AP + Cable/DSL Router w/4-Port Switch provides the ideal solution for connecting your wireless network to a high-speed broadband Internet connection and a 10/100 Fast Ethernet backbone. Configurable as a DHCP server for your existing network, the EtherFast® Wireless AP + Cable/DSL Router w/4-Port Switch acts as the only externally recognized Internet gateway on your local area network (LAN) and serve as an Internet NAT firewall against unwanted outside intruders. The Router can also be configured to filter internal users' access to the Internet. A typical router may have to rely on an external hub or switch to share its Internet connection, but the Linksys EtherFast® Wireless AP + Cable/DSL Router channels this connection through the blazing, full duplex speed of its built-in EtherFast® 10/100 4-Port Switch. This cutting-edge combination of wireless router and switch technology eliminates the need to buy an additional hub or switch and extends the range of your wireless network. Now your entire wireless network can enjoy blazing broadband Internet connections supported by its robust switched back-bone. With the dual-function speed and power of the EtherFast® Wireless AP + Cable/DSL Router w/4-Port Switch, your network will take off at speeds faster than you ever imagined possible.

    ### I use the Linksys EtherFast Cable/DSL Router on XP without any problems. I connected the router to the computer using an ethernet cable. There was no need to install any drivers. I use a cable modem which plugs into the router. My second computer w...as connected via a wireless USB device. This computer made use of Windows ME. A driver needed to be installed, but other than that, the process went quickly.I may have spent a total of 10 minutes on installation, with little trouble after that. Read more Less

After hooking up a Belkin router(wireless) and adapters, I got poor reception. After six months of frustration, I switched to Linksys and have had excellent reception right from the beginning.

    ### Linksys Wireless Router Model No. (BEFW11S4): I found this piece of hardware extremely easy to setup, it took less than 10 minutes and my wireless network was up and running. The directions are extremely easy to understand, written for a "non-network...admin type". I'm using a NetGear Model(MA401) wireless PC Card for my laptop and they both work together just fine. Both the Linksys and NetGear websites had the latest sofware downloads. Read more Less

    ### I bought this router (ver. 4) along with the ethernet bridge WET11 for the Playstation 2. It works great after installing the latest firmware. I had some problems at first with the Playstation not connecting to the internet the second time 24 hours a...fter the first connection. Firmware upgrade solved this problem. Tech support is not the greatest but searching their knowledge base on their web site is good. Read more Less
