Description

Plug the Logitech X-530 into your PC, music player, DVD player, or even your PlayStation® or Xbox game console and immerse yourself in clean, crisp, consistent surround sound from your games, movies, and more. The high-tech subwoofer adjusts itself dynamically to deliver distortion-free bass. And the five wall-mountable satellite speakers use Logitech's patented FDD2 technology to eliminate the uneven sound response created by conventional dual-driver designs. The result: a clear, uniform sound field without the hot spots and inconsistency of other dual-driver satellites.

    ### Just a few weeks before getting these speakers, I purchased an Audigy 2 Value to replace onboard AC97 audio. I decided to treat myself to surround sound, something I haven't really had too much experience with (though I've gone through several sets...of 2/2.1 computer speakers). Setup was pretty easy, but took a bit of acrobatics and the help of a friend to get around the tight niches around my L-shaped desk. With Creative's configuration software, the speakers were setup to run in 5.1 mode in less than 5 minutes. I played a few MP3s (using CMSS2 in the Creative software) and I immediately noticed a difference in audio immersion. I was swimming in sound. The higher end of the spectrum sounds pure, and lows are very nice, thanks in part to the dynamic EQ in the subwoofer. The mids were a little less satisfying, lacking some of the warmth that i found in my previous Cyber Acoustic 2.1 speakers, but were by no means poor, or average, for that matter. For gaming, the speakers work great. I played BF1942, UT2003, Need For Speed: High Stakes, Raven Shield, and Ghost Recon. Slight distortion in the satellites at very high volumes, almost impractical levels, so it really isn't too much of a problem. The bass doesn't feel too exaggerated, when dialed in correctly on the back of the subwoofer...and that brings me to something that's missing from this speaker set. It lacks a wired remote with master volume, fader, or bass control, missing any kind of controls at all for the latter two on the speakers themselves. However, with a little tweaking to get the right balance of sound, it hasn't bothered me all that much beyond the first few days. My desk area is relatively small and the speakers are no more than 2 to 3 feet from my ears. I would guess that the speakers would work fine for a larger area, but don't bet on them to fill your living room with sound. Overall...probably the best purchase I have ever made for my computer. • Unbelievable Deal

    ### I bought this set for my HP that I have connected to my 60" Panasonic Big Screen for a Home Theater System and I still can't believe I got this kind of quality sound & performance for $29.95 from a local electronics that was going out of business. I...have yet to be disappointed by any Logitech product I've bought so far and these are without a doubt the best when it comes to a computer sound system and trust me, I've gone thru some sets in the last ten years! Even at $100 this would have been a great deal but for less that $30, it's 100% UNBELIEVABLE! Buy them, you won't be disappointed, I promise! My only issue with them is, the speaker cables could have been a little longer but, that's only because of my application use of them. I actually have them set up in my livingroom as a home theater system and I had to run the rear speakers under a rug because they are too short. I did pick up some extension cables but haven't gotten around to hooking those up yet. All-in-all, the best money I've spent in quite some time. I highly recommend this system if you need to be frugal. Read more Less

  • WOW!

    ### I am still trying to blow these speakers. I can crank them all the way to 3/4 volume with windows maxxed out before getting any clipping, and i can hear the speakers from 150 feet away outside with the windows open. The sound quality, heck the whole...system is amazing for it's price range. I'm never going back to a 2 speaker sound system again. The center speaker doesn't have a wall mount nor a flat panel mount, but it's not that much of a problem. I have an external DIY 300 watt/12" subwoofer in addition to the logitech one, and with the at opposite ends of the room my whole room vibrates (but the logitech hold's it's own against the mammoth). With everything maxxed, it sounds and feels like a live concert in my room. Read more Less

    ### Aside from being a little bit hard to wire, these are the BEST speakers I have come accross in a while! Especially for their price! I got these for $80 a few months ago thanks to a rebate! Best move I ever made! I can now play games and music clear a...s day! Very realistic! It's like having a Toby Keith concert right in my room! Read more Less

Although it lacks the power and the clarity of some speakers, the X-530 set provides a cheap way to add respectable 5.1-channel surround sound to your computer. Read more
