Description

Shoot dramatic close-ups and sharp fast-action shots with the 8.1 megapixel Cyber-shot DSC-H7 digital camera. The Carl Zeiss 15X optical zoom and Advanced Sports Mode with high shutter speed are perfect for crisp long shots and excellent detail when shooting at sporting events. Super SteadyShot image stabilization and high-sensitivity (ISO 3200) mode reduce blur when shooting without a flash and Face Detection technology brings out the best in faces. You can also manually control the exposure and focus of the DSC-H7, making it ideal for more artistic shots. And with HD (high definition) output, photos can look even more spectacular when you share them with friends and family on HDTV screens.

  • This is my favorite....so far!

    ### This is my fourth digital camera. It was slightly more expensive than my others but I'd gotten more into picture taking so I wanted better quality. I've had my cybershot since May and I've gotten really familiar with it. At first I had to play around...with different settings in order to get exposure I wanted. Once I learn what does what...it's great! I've even gotten paid for pictures I've taken with it! I'm looking for another one now with more megapixels and capabilities because I plan on starting a small photography business...but I'll keep this one! Read more Less

  • SONY DSC-H7 - Should have started with this camera

    By Flames55  Apr 28, 2008

    ### My 3rd "serious" digital camera. first was a 5 MP Sony Mavica that recorded straight to compact CDs. Absolutely love that camera but only has a 3x optical zoom. "Upgraded" a couple of years ago to a 5 MP Fuji S5200 to get the 10x optical zoom (I atte...nd a lot of auto races, ballgames & concerts) but after use felt the Fuji lens let the rest of the camera down soooo, it was back to Sony and this camera. I felt the combination of 8.1 MP, 15x optical zoom & the Zeiss lens would suit my needs for the foreseeable future and, so far, I believe this will be the case. First test was a mid-April Mets/Phillies game with a 4:00 PM start time. Photos taken ranged from field boxes prior to game at 3:00 to shots taken from the main concouse around 7:00 when it was starting to get quite dark. With good light this camera takes wonderful action photos and the continuous shooting feature works great. as the light decreased the photos tended to get grainier, though nothing you would probably get crazy about unless you were looking to do enlargements. Came away very satisfied. The next weekend we attended an outdoor concert on an overcast day. We were probably 50' from the stage and the 15x zoom did exactly what I bought the camera for. Not only were the photos crisp & clear, the female artist was having trouble with one of her false eyelashes coming off and the camera very clearly picked this up....awesome! Next weekend is a NASCAR race in Richmond. Can't wait for that one! Back to the camera...lens cap is annoying,(rechargable)bat tery life better than expected, LCD is very bright/clear though I still find myself primarily using the viewfinder. Bought my DSC-7 as a refurbished unit straight from Sony for $269. added a 2G memory card that brought total to $309. Opened a Sony credit card account and they took $100. off my bill. GREAT deal! • Sony Cybershot DSC-H7

    By Ralph  Jul 15, 2007

    ### I bought this camera last weekend. Not being a real digital pro.I found I had to look at booklet a number of times to figure out what I was doing.Second outing was much better. The photos are great with all the details showing up very clearly ,even wh...en enlarged to max. I did buy 1 gig of memory. Also will buy another battery as a back up. I feel this camera is a real value for the buck and I recommend it completely. You can't go wrong if you learn to play with it. • Loved it, loved it very much

    By Gareth  May 6, 2008

I take this camera everywhere & it has never failed me; no matter what it always takes a good picture. At the end of the zoom once in a picture can get slightly blurred but that is only with digital zoom on. Otherwise excellent camera

  • LOts of Wows with Lots of crap

    By Jeff  Jan 22, 2008

    ### Still a novice and don't know how to do much but point and shoot. I have found so far for this camera that it is very difficult to take a picutre of a bird in flight, unlike my Canon IS2. But, If you happen to get it in focus, WOW. ALso, many time it...has too much of a pause between pushing the button and taking the picture. With wildlife, which is what I mostly take, they are gone by the time the camera decides to take the picture. Read more Less

  • Great Camera

By Yahoo Shopping User  Dec 29, 2007

    ### I have tried several settings but none have helped get rid of the grainy low light images. This camera is so good, I might be doing something wrong. If I figure it out I will repost with the solution. Other than that this is by far the best digital c...amera I have owned (I have owned 7 or 8) Read more Less

    By Kostas  May 30, 2008

This camera is really nice for its price. The image quality is OK but the pictures in low light look grainy.
