  • Great Value for the price

    ### We have own this model for over 30 years and has had no issues with thick cookie dough, bread dough or anthin we have used it for. We use it to make pasta, grind meat plus all of the baking me and my wife do. 30 years out of a $180.00 mixer works out...to $ 6.00 a year not bad value. It is still going strong and will have it for many more. Read more Less

  • K45SSWH Classic Stand Mixer

    By Louy  Nov 2, 2012

    ### I love my mixer...have had it for approx. 36 yrs. & it still runs great. Have made plenty of cookies, & frostings for decorating (very stiff frostings). Never a problem...& never had to have repairs. Prior to owning this machine, I burned out motors...on handheld, & other stand mixers. Would never trade it for the new Brevelle you're talking about. It has more things that can go wrong with it. Read more Less

    ### I use a mixer several times a week for home use, and a standing mixer means a lot to me. All the cookbooks say that eventually you will buy the Kitchenaid for your baking needs, and this is a lovely accessory. HOWEVER, there is a plastic gear (I thin...k its a gear, it has teeth) that will break should there be a lump of hard brown sugar in your batter. This breakage protects the motor from burning out- but puts you in the position of paying for a repair that is at least 50% of what you paid for the expensive mixer in the first place. Some woman has made a you-tube video of how to fix the gear on your own- once you buy the repacement part. Just be aware that it doesn't take much to bring this mixer to its knees. Google "kitchenaid mixer repair" and see how many others have said the same thing, just so you know what you are getting into. Read more Less

  • The BEST stand mixer made !

    By LCPatriots  Nov 22, 2011

    ### I am a male health care professional who has loved to cook and bake for over forty years. I bought this very machine in 1974, along with attachments for meat-grinding, sausage-stuffing, juicing, making apple and other sauces, and making every conceiv...able pasta from angel hair to lasagna noodles. This machine has performed all of the above tasks superbly. It chops, grinds, and purees better than any type of machine I have used. Ditto for making pie crusts, cakes, and icing. The kitchen aid mixer is the home version of the huge Hobart mixers used in bakeries. In 37 years, it has not failed me. . not even once. That's why I left the support rating blank. I would give it six stars, on a scale of one to five. Two absolute thumbs up ! Read more Less

  • Wow

    ### OK, I was somewhat unsure when my wife registered us for this mixer because of the price. I really didn't think we needed one that cost $200. Well, several friends went in together and got us one. It rocks. I later found out that my mother-in-law has...had the same one for over 10 years now and still works great. So, give yourself a small treat and get one...it will be the last one you get for a LONG time. Read more Less

  • Superb Machine

    By RichardA  Jul 30, 2010

    ### My Mom purchased this mixer over 40 years ago and handed it down to me. You couldn't ask for a more reliable mixer. It does it all. I have the meat grinder attachment and can grind better chop beef than you can buy. You can't lose buying Kitchen Aide.... Read more Less
