  • Great Camera -- Wide Angle Lens

    By GD1  Jul 13, 2007

    ### This Camera Rocks. Everything I need from a digial camera. Hi-Res 8 mega pix. Rare point and shoot wide angle fixed lens is great for capturing the whole picture. Gives a nice photo journalistic quality to the photo. After using it's large view scree...n, it's hard to go back to my Canon S-40 ( also an excelent camera) and look at its tiny view screen. If you want quality pictures, stick with canon or the olympus. Too bad they stopped making this camera and the S-90 doesnt look like it will ever come. Camera was dropped and was fixed by cannon for a mear $125 (i was expecting worse) witin a week. Read more Less

  • Nice pick as back-up for DSLR users

By Francisco Javier Saracho  Dec 8, 2006

I chose this camera as second option whenever my D100 & D200 are either too risky (dangerous cities) to carry or to bulky and painful to bring (small trips, weekends...). Sorry Nikon, I can

  • Just Buy it

    By Jack  Jun 28, 2006

    ### This camera takes great pictures. I took a photo and had it enlarged to 20" x 30" poster. It came out so clear that I am finally sold on digital cameras. I have better than 20 - 20 vision so I am a little sensitive to clarity. This camera does the tr...ick. By the way, high speed memory card is important. You should invest in one to take advantage of the features of this camera. Read more Less

  • Loved it!

By Yahoo Shopping User  Oct 14, 2006

    ### I bought this camera to replace a digital camera that I hated and regret buying. I use my camera a lot so I needed one that will have the best quality. Before this camera even came out at the stores, I ordered it online. I paid a little extra...for the shipping but it is worth it. It has the best picture quality yet that I've seen. I'm also glad that it uses SD card which is cheaper than the other ones. It also has a slide show feature if you want to see all the pictures you've taken. I highly recommend it and I promise that you will never buy another camera ever again. Read more Less

  • Great quality and compact

    By LauraS  Aug 12, 2006

    ### I did an extensive amount of research before finally buying this camera. It is my first digital, and I absolutely love it. My sisters have other brands, and they have both had problems. Additionally, neither one of them has a rechargable lithium b...attery. I wouldn't have a digital camera without one, especially with so many megapixels. Use the highest quality when taking pictures...otherwise, why spend money on so many megapixels if you don't actually use them? The quality of photos with this camera is excellent, and the compact design with so many features makes it a perfect camera. I also scrapbook, so I take loads of pictures, and this camera is excellent for that! Read more Less

  • excellent camera, almost professional in a compact

    By Sherban  Sep 30, 2006

    ### I still own a Pentax 6X7 and severall Contax's with Carl Zeiss lenses. I used them from mountain tops to weddings, and I hanged onto them untill eventually I had to agree that film was loosing to digital. I did a thorough research for about 2 weeks...and I bought my first digital camera: S80. I love it! I don't have to carry 10lbs of equipment anymore, I have video back up for emergencies. I would've liked more zoom, but with 8megapix and 2Giga card I easily overcome that. The 28mm wideangle makes for wonderfull compositions. Easy to control, super logical (on my first trip I forgot instructions at home and so I proved you don't really need them), excellent focus, colour and almost pro features. For indoor scenes, manual mode gives great nuances ballance. This camera is for photo enthus that chase great results; it's a reward for photography and not snap-shooting. Keep it up CANON (the quality, not the price)! Read more Less

  • Great Camera

    By scorpiod97  Aug 12, 2006

    ### This camera is absolutely incredible. This is my first digital camera, and I have to say that I'm very impressed. After doing a lot of research I settled on this camera. I like that you can adjust the settings on the camera that will adjust the size,...quality, and megapixels. I keep mine set on the highest settings, and I am NEVER disappointed. It does exactly what I want it to do. This camera has an amazing 8Megapixel power for its size. I have an old Canon SLR 35mm (non-digital) and I have not picked it up since I purchased the Powershot S80. In fact, I am reconsidering my need to purchase a Digital SLR. This camera so far goes above and beyond my amateur photography needs. If you use the digital zoom and it is still not close enough for you, you can zoom in more with the computer and still maintain a highly pixelated image.I am yet to use all the features available on this camera. I have received so many compliments on the photos that I have taken, I almost feel guilty taking all the credit. Almost. If you're looking for an incredibly powerful, small point and shoot digital camera with lots of features, options, settings, and easy to use and figure out, this would be it. It is intuitevely designed, produces crisp & beautiful pictures, and very attractive; everytime I take it out, people ask me about it. It is worth the money. I have no complaints for this product. • Great point-and-shoot for skilled photographers

By Yahoo Shopping User  Dec 5, 2006

    ### This is a fantastic camera for everyday carrying around, if it's used to its full potential. The camera has tons of great features, from the truly useful (customizable automated intervals for shutter release) to the whimsical but still interesting (c...olor swap). It takes a while to play with it to find everything and get comfortable with it, but once you do it's fantastic. Read more Less

    ### I have had eight different models of digital cameras ranging from point and shoot, to slr's... This one is a keeper. It is buy far the most straight forward camera out of the box that I've owned... You almost do not need instructions. Cannon, keep...it up. Bob Read more Less
