  • Gojira/Godzilla: King of Monsters

    ### Well, I just got this 2-disc set and I was extremely pleased. And a little disappointed. For years I've been reading about the original Japanese version of the movie and how different the cut is but I could never get my hands on a copy of it to see....Until now. The transfer is great considering the print they used I believe was from the original 1954 release. The bonus features, while being rather informative, ended up mostly just being pictures with some guy talking while they appear. And talking...and talking... I found myself wondering if Ben Stein knew somebody had stolen his schtick. (Bueller...Bueller?) All-in-all well worth the $15 I paid for it. This one is not just for the die-hard Godzilla fans out there, but also for the ones with an appreciation for a classic story/movie. If you want the cheesy "man in suit" movies that came later this is not for you. Now I hope they do this same treatment with the other 29-or-so Godzilla movies out there. I'd buy them all.
