Very good machine
4 of 4 Yahoo! Users found this review helpful Excellent machine for the traveler.
On the plus side:
- Great for use on the road on aboard a plane.
- Integrated Wi-Fi card.
- Long lasting battery.
- Small, yet the keyboard doesn't feel too tiny, nor the screen too small.
- The Memory Stick slot also reads and writes MagicGate sticks, for those like myself who use a Sony digital music player (a NW-MS7 in my case). Obviously this is also great for those who have a Sony digital camera or camcorder usinf Memory Sticks.
On the downside:
- The external silver casing is beautiful, but gets worn a bit too easily.
- The DVD player stand is convenient, but is easy to loose... I lost mine already. Bummer.
- The screen needs to have the brightness increased almost to the max when used running on the battery in a room or environment with a lot of daylight.
- The video out connector is proprietary. I haven't been able to find the cable needed to connect the notebook to a monitor yet.
- Phone line connector not very conveniently located. ... -

Good product, but...
1 of 1 Yahoo! Users found this review helpful I've had a RTV3060 (same model, but with a 60 hours drive) for over a year and a half, and it totally changed my viewing habits.
This is a very good product, but my model had to be returned and replaced twice - fortunately, this was covered by the warranty. The first problem seemed to be firmware-related, the second one was a hard drive failure.
I'd recommend checking out the RTV4000 series. Also, a 30 hour capacity seems a bit short if you watch a lot of TV. ... -

DON'T buy it!
I've had this burner for a while, and was able to only burn ONE CD. First I tried it on different PCs running Win NT, 2000 and 98, and the PCs wouldn't even detect it.
I shipped it to Philips, which shipped it back after more than 4 MONTHS (I had to call them 3 times to get my burner back!). I was able to burn one CD, and that's it. I've seen on various message boards I'm not the only one to have problems with this product.
I'm never buying a Philips product again. Their product doesn't work, and their customer support is terrible. ... -

Cute, but a bit pricey
Sony's first Clié (the S300 has been replaced by the S320) is cute and feels very nice in the palm of your hand. It's much thicker than a Palm V or m500, but it's also not as wide, allowing you to have a comfortable grisp on the device. It's also a bit taller. The S320 is about the same size.
The screen of the S300 is nice, and the backlit makes the screen very readable.
The jog dial is not that practical. I rarely use it. The Memory Stick expansion slot (the unit comes with a 4Mb stick) is useful if you need to store a lot of data, but is NOT compatible with the MagicGate Memory Sticks used by Sony's digital music players (the "regular" Memory Sticks cannot store music files that your Sony music player can play).
The unit comes with PalmOS 3.5, and a proprietary version of Palm Desktop for Sony.
Overall, I liked my Sony Clié, but I'm going back to Palm (my Clié recently got stolen). I was disappointed with the lack of accessories for Sony Cliés, and was overall disappointed by the Sony brand because of this Memory Stick/MagicGate incompatibility (I also have a Sony digital music player that I can't use with Windows 2000). ... -

Poor story
0 of 1 Yahoo! Users found this review helpful This sure is safe entertainment for kids, but the very unimaginative storyline and the stereotyped characters spoil the whole thing. The opening scene is excellent and spectacular. The rest of the movie, except for some remarkable visual and sound effects, lags and offers no surprise. The writers tried packing too much in one movie, but they packed the most conventional story ever, which has already been told zillions of time.
Too bad. ... -

Excellent movie, disappointing DVD
You don't have to like football to enjoy this movie. Oliver Stone, with his talent for documentary-like features, will take you inside the industry (because that's what it is), with no compromise. The acting is excellent. Cameron Diaz proves she can do something else than comedy as a tough manager who shakes hands with the guys in the locker room, Pacino is at his best, and Jamie Foxx is amazing. Dennis Quaid gives probably one of his best performances. Oliver Stone even casted himself as a sport commentator, and obviously had some fun doing it. Lots of humor too.
The soundtrack is loud, powerful, and eclectic, but mostly hip hop and big beat.
My disappointment was with the DVD, which has no bonus material that is worth watching. The movie deserved at least an audio commentary from the director. ... -

Nice idea, but too long
The idea is cute and funny: a mouse living in an abandoned house makes life hell for its new dwellers. Some scenes are very funny, like the mouse traps nightmare in the kitchen, and the special effects are in general very impressive (the mouse looks very much real). The cat scene, however, should have never made it in the final cut. Lee Evans' acting is a little over the top, whereas Nathan Lane is perfect s the pedantic brother, and Christopher Walken obviously had fun playing the exterminator.
Too bad the movie is way too long in the end. ... -

Nice effects and design, but that's it..
Blade looks almost perfect. Most special effects are excellent, the fights are well-choregraphed (although The Matrix definitely redefined the martial arts fights in Hollywood since), the photography and the sets are very nice (except for that temple in the final scene, which looks like it's been designed by a mall architect)... Problem is, there is absolutely no humor in this movie. It wouldn't hurt Wesley Snipes to crack a joke once in a while. His acting is a little over the top.
Tim Burton's Batman, Spawn, and recently X-Men all had lots of humor. It didn't look like everyone was taking themselves too seriously. Sadly, Blade, for all its nice effects, lacks that.
The DVD is very nicely done, with lots of behind-the-scenes footage and interviews that are very interesting if you love moviemaking and science fiction. The scene index feature probably looked nice on paper, but is a pain to use. ...

Terrible quality, expensive for what it is
Pros: Compatible with most notebooks
Cons: Poor quality, easily broken
I broke this riser in the first minute I used it. It's cheap-looking, entirely made of plastic, and definitely not worth the 20, let alone 39 dollars some retailers charge for it.
If you're looking to just raise your notebook and are using an external keyboard and mouse, get one of Griffin's risers, or a similar product, but definitely not this terrible piece of equipment. ...
