Awsome
Just when I tought there was no hope for music today, along comes Norah Jones! To top it off, shes playing traditional blues influenced jazz! A type music most her age dont even know exists!
Anyways, this girl has a gorgeous voice and is a very talented musician. From her surprising hit Dont Know Why to her remake of Hank Williams Cold, Cold Heart this CD is well worth the $14.00 I spent to buy it.
Norah Jones offers hope in this very dark musical period we live in. With the airwaves being dominated by mindless Hip Hop, violence influnced Rap, whimpy Boy Bands and slutty looking female singers who cant even its great to see someone like Norah Jones have the sucess that shes having. Still it angers me that no talents like Christinba Agulara and Britney Spears outsell her. Norah Jones is someone we can show to our young duaghters and say See, shes pretty and she looks classy. Plus she can sing, play an instrument and write songs. Look up to her, not those no talent cheap looking tramps like Britney, Christina or Shakira! ... -

The Man In Black!!!!!
Johnny Cash is the man. With the total destruction of country music these I listen to all the TRUE greats: Johnny, Waylon, Willie, George Strait, Loretta Lynn, Buck Owens, Dwight.
Any CD that contains The Man in Blacks Greatest Hits is great.
If you are a huge fan check his Live at Folsom Prison and San Quinton CDs. Theyre awsome!!! ... -

A new respect for Kid Rock
Prior to Cocky, I was among those who would tell you that Kid Rock sucks donkey balls.
But when I first saw the video for "Picture" I really liked the song. Then I heard it on the radio a few times. I really, really liked the song so I bought the CD. I was kicking myself in the ass for buying a Kid Rock CD, but then I listened to the rest of it and was totally shocked, Kid Rock has shown himself to have some depth and versitility.
On Cocky he gives up that heavy metal-rap stuff he's been doing and shows his appriciation for and influence by country and rock. He put together a great collection of tunes. I'll tell you some of the songs on this album are more country than that crap being put out by Tim McGraw, Kieth Urban and Kenny Chesney.
Even if you don't like Kid Rock, but like country flovored rock, take a listen to this album. You'll be pleasantly surprised! ... -

Great Voice...
...bad collection of songs. The fact that Babyface and Diane Warren are involved in this project should put up a red flag to buyers. Then to top it off, a remake ofToni Braxtons annoying Unbreak My Heart (which was severly overplayed 6-7 years ago).
There is no doubt this girl can sing, but the songs suck. Still this is the kind of crap the public is buying up these days, so I'm sure Kelly will do well with her debut. ... -

Was this supposed to be a comedy or dram
If this was supposed to be a drama, I give one star. There was nothing realistic about this film. The situation were dumb and it was just plain silly.
But...
...if it was supposed to be some kind of twisted dark comedy, give it 4 stars. If your watching it with the your mind set on it being a comedy, than it can entertain you and make you laugh.
My problem was when I saw it, my mind was set on it being a drama, so I though it was horrible. My friend told me to watch it again with my mind set on it being a comedy. I did and found rather entertaining. ... -

Retire Already!
0 of 1 Yahoo! Users found this review helpful The time has come for the Rolling Stones to hang it up. At this point in thier career, they are just a novelty act: A group of guys in their late 50's and early 60's still out there rocking. All thier new material is stagnent and recycled. It's time for the Stones to call it a career.
As far as Forty Licks isconcerned, it's just another in a long line of "Best Of" compilations by the Stones. It is no better than any of the other ones, in fact it really isn't as good as some of the others. They try pack 40 years of hits in to one CD and some good tracks are left off and some mediocre ones are put on. Still it has enough good songs to make it a decent collection.
For a complete collection of the Stones best work I reccomend buying the 2 Hot Rocks Collections and then Rewind 1971-1984. Then you will have all of thier best hits. Although Rewind only goes up to 1984, it's okay because the Stones died off creativly after 1981's Tatoo You album. ... -

The Woman Rocked!
Finally a definative collection is released featuring the best of Janis Joplins work.
The woman poured her heart and her soul into her music and, in my opinion, remains today as the best female rock vocalist ever. And I say this about and artist who died a year before I was born!
While her own demons led to her death, I doesn't change the fact that all her pains, heartaches and joys come ount in her powerful music. I love everything she's done.
Screw JLo, screw Brittny, screw Christina. These girls can't hold a candle to Janis.
Janis Joplin will always be the Queen of Rock and Roll to me. ...

God, please! No! Make it Stop
1 of 3 Yahoo! Users found this review helpful JoDee Messina is a prime example of how bad country music sucks now. Now shes got a Greatest Hits out. There is absolutely no elements of country in her music. Most of her songs are a stupid countryfied rap.
Everything she puts out is pure garbage. Its stupid snf its not country.
Give me country music in the tradition of Waylon, Willie, Johnny, Loretta, Tammy, Emmylou, Alan, the Georges (Jones & Strait), Dolly and Merle.
Screw all these newcomers who have destoyed country music. That means you Shania, Faith, Tim, Garth, JoDee and countless others. ...
