Great HDTV - Ditch the Remote!!

Pros: Awesome HD picture, perfect size, lots of Inputs

Cons: Useless, if not worse, remote control. Poor Menu

This is my first High Def TV and I am incredibly pleased both with this TV's picture and Hi Def in general. I am now hooked! Got this BABY for $2400 (price included $145 freight and $182 tax) from Best Buy Outlet on eBay. Other TV's of this model from this seller went for $150.00 less...awesome deal. Arrived in perfect NEW condition w/ full warranty. I use cable and quickly found out the remote is a piece of junk and poorly designed. If lucky, you can use your cable or sattelite remote for most functions and only have to use the TV's for a couple functions (aspect and input) which most of the time are very slow (switching inputs) and confusing (switching aspect). The on-screen menus also are poorly designed and cumbersome...come on JVC, you can do better!! The 40" model of this TV was rated a number 1 Best Buy by Consumer Reports magazine (probably had the same remote, though). Overall I am still blown away by this TV...looks better than in the Showroom. Got it hooked up with an HDMI cable (not included and expensive) but I still cannot get HDMI audio to my Surround receiver yet for TV viewing. Will have to pull the TV out again and re-try. Tons of inputs on the back but they could be laid out better. But you should only have to mess around back there a time or two. A VERY great buy!! ...
