The construction of the cabinet is solid. But plain-no fancy polished wood veener. The speakers are reinforced with Kevlar so they should last forever and offer a good balanced sound. With a powered subwoofer they are far more than adequate for DVD Home Theater. They offer a quality stereo music system on a budget level and should satisfy all but the most demanding audio enthusiasts. ...

For a small listening area these are ideal. The speaker design delivers good balanced sound for this size. The perfect speakers for a Home Theater system in an apartment or small to medium size family room. For more bass the SS-MB350H speakers are the next step up. I use these as the rear surrounds and center for a 5.1 Dolby set-up and the larger MB350H speakers for the front surrounds. The quality of speaker design should ensure long life and no distortion at high levels as they are rated for 100 watts which is higher than what I would ever use them at. For the money and performance I doubt that any other speakers come close. ...
