Toshiba M200 Tablet Laptop
3 of 3 Yahoo! Users found this review helpfulPros: Size, battery power, graphics capabilities
Cons: Lack of decent software bundle
I was lucky enough to get my hands on one of these systems almost a year ago. I haven't had to make one call to technical support or even had to reboot the system to solve a problem (although kudos should go to XP for op sys stability). The system is fast and the tablet function priceless. I can draw, doodle, make notes on documents, take notes during classes, and conduct all business electronically because I can actually send my true signature. I think a pressure sensitive screen is a must for photoshop apps, and at 12.1" the screen is plenty big enough for photo editing. The battery power is amazing for a system this size and with this chip, I've run it up to 6 hours on one charge (although it doesn't touch Sony's T series). The only con I found about this system is its lack of a decent software bundle. It does provide some applications with a 30 and 60 day trial, but I don't like my $2000 system being used as an advertisiing billboard for software purchases. Stop with the trials and just give us the software. ...
Garmin eTrex Legend C GPS Receiver
3 of 3 Yahoo! Users found this review helpfulPros: Lightweight, color display, incredible battery power
Cons: Comes with a basemap, no details
I bought this GPS receiver to help me navigate offshore when I take my dog island hopping on my jetski. I tend to get lost especially off Dauphin Island and the other little islands off the coast of Alabama. This unit is water proof and ready for adventure. After learning all its functions, I started using it for trails and geocaching. It has a specific geocache function that is foolproof. The display is easy to read even in direct sunlight. It has great reception, even under cover. The only thing it doesn't come with is detailed maps or topo built in, but that is easily downloaded from any of Garmin's MapSource CDs. You can download auto nav routes and it will give you audible turn-by-turn directions. The batteries last up to 24 hours. It's got 24 MB of storage for your routes. There is nothing about this unit not to like, and it is appropriate for both beginners and experienced GPS navigators. ...
