Pros: Dazzling visuals, thought-provoking ambiguity, magnificent music and sound
Cons: Some fx shots are slightly dated.
Stanley Kubrick's masterpiece. The greatest science fiction film ever made, tracing and speculating on man's evolution and his place in the universe. Very subtle and ambiguous confrontation between man and an ultra-advanced extraterrestrial life form. Fascinating theological implications on a purely scientific level. Though some fx shots are slightly dated, the film remains as visually dazzling as it was in 1968. Magnificent score from classical and avant garde musical sources. My favorite film. ...
