DEVIL DOG IS EXCELLENT HORROR CAMP
Pros: GREAT HORROR CAMP, PRETTY GOOD ACTING
Cons: VHS QUALITY, ROCK BOTTOM BUDGET
I love this movie. Its one of my favorite camp horror flicks. I don’t get why Yahoo does not even include it as a movie. You have to search for Richard Crenna to find it. I saw it on TV in 1978 as a young man, and for some reason I never forgot it. Now I have it on a used VHS I got from Amazon. For the reviewer who wants a DVD, the DVD was released in October of 2005. I heard its great quality. “Devil Dog” was a made for TV movie in 1978 and suffered from a very low budget and awful special effects. But for me, that is part of what makes it endearing. Falls into the “so bad its good” category, although the more times I see it, the more I respect the acting by Richard Crenna and Yvette Mimieux. They more than made up for the shortfalls. Plus the plot is not so bad and I love that devil dog. Silly and fun, I love this movie. ...
